Some rather fanciful talk on B and A about Woods moving to Fulham or West Ham for a fee in excess in excess of a million pounds. Woods is an admirable player who was one of the few positives from last season and has been one of our most consistent players this season with good vision and passing. But he also has parts of his game that need working on (such as a tendency to overplay and twist and turn often losing possession) that have been more exposed recently when he has been man-marked. I think it would be to his benefit to stay with us for the season as there is no guarantee he is good enough at the moment to be a regular starter at Championship level or above. As for the amounts mentioned we have a history of letting players go for much less that they are worth (or for nothing in some cases like Pugh) and I am not sure we would immediately in terms of improvement to the team gain the benefit from any transfer fee anyway. If he does get an offer he cannot refuse I wish him well as it is a long time since Town have produced a young player as talented as him.
AJ a pissed old hack baffled by new technology has finally fathomed his way back on these boards. matt grimes of Exeter city less experienced than woodsy is moving to Swansea for £1.75 million. in my book that makes woodsy worth £2m. expect a bid from man city wolves or most likely fulham
Atcham, I have not seen Grimes play live (only on TV in cup) but he looks to be an exciting attacking player and those are worth more than defensive midfielders and I don't think we will get one million for Woods, let alone two. Some posters on Band A seem to think that Woods to Fulham (loaned back to us for rest of season) is a done deal but time will tell as we often hear this sort of talk.
Grimes now done deal today. Woods is by no means the same player as I saw earlier in season. MM needs to make positional changes as other clubs may know our match tactics.
