Today's result has confirmed beyond doubt that we are here for the long haul. We are a level below Chelsea and Man City, but we are at the same level as Man Utd, Arsenal and Spurs. I always think that goal difference is a good barometer as to where a club stands within the league and our GD of +19 compares very favourably to our immediate rivals. We are in the top four on merit and the "usual suspects" for CL qualification have good reason to respect us.
Tbf, for any mid-table or higher Premier League side beating Arsenal is hardly a massive achievement nowadays. No offense.
beating arsenal in an isolated incident isn't particularly impressive, beating arsenal to remain in the top four after 20 games is
I would say that it is more like 2 from 7 or 8. Some teams with new players/managers may start to hit their stride (us included), transfers will make (or break) some teams, injuries... just a lot of games still left to play and IMO no one other than Chelsea/Man U looks definitively better than the others in the top 10.
I know it's hardly the "in" thing to say, but I really don't think that Liverpool can be ruled out yet. On the basis that I think Utd have the firepower to finish in the top four (and no European football to get in their way), I am therefore currently going with one from four for the final place.
