There's a reason not to have Saints TV, right there.

So heartening to see frontal lobotomy surgery has been so successful in parts of North London.

He goes to every game. Apparently a fridge fell on him and he got compensation for brain damage which has allowed him to finance it all.

They were all slagging us off when they beat West Ham. Saying the both of us were in a "false position".

I've seen him on those occassions when i check that site for a cheap laugh but i never heard about the fridge thing. So i'm guessing someone tried to drop an old fridge out the window into the cardboard box he happened to be residing in at the time.

Yeah they always interview those 2 as they go to every game. That Claude guy is ultra moany and negative, Ty is always the complete opposite and over the top positive. Both just s annoying as each other tbh

I assume you have to pay for a subscription to have the privilege of getting these insightful reviews! I always think that the Arsenal fans on 606 are generally the least sensible or most critical of all the supporters. Seeing this, it is hard t believe that nick Hornby supports the same team! The first two characters are almost pastiches of themselves.

Showing your age there fella. Subscribing on YouTube is free. There's some good stuff on there, although granted this channel is a bit pants. If anyone likes football weekly by the guardian then they also have a YouTube equivalent for each of the top foreign leagues

I dunno. I don't find those guys so bad. They get the most...umm... "passionate" fans because it makes for more entertaining viewing than interviewing someone like me whose response is always "We did some things well, we were bad and need to improve at others. We'll see next week." after every game. And especially if you interview people right after a game, of course their adrenaline is up.

That would have been a particularly disappointing game for me as an Arsenal supporter. A CL place was up for grabs and it's also a test of where your team stands. They failed pretty badly. Two horrible mistakes led to goals and they never got anything going at the other end. They don't look good enough. So nothing they said was wrong. Maybe a little over-the-top, but fundamentally their analysis is right. They SHOULD expect to beat us given their stature and budget. All the things that make us very happy that we are either punching above our weight or moving into another level are naturally going to be upsetting to other clubs as our gains are at their expense.

It was the same when things weren't going well for Saints. When we were in Championship/L1 in the early days, people were NOT happy. At all. And the L1 and Championship sides probably felt like we were acting a bit like spoiled brats as if those leagues were beneath us and we were entitled to Premier League football. I think two things happened-- One is that things got so bad the club almost ceased to exist, which made everyone appreciate what we had. And the second is we got lucky with our owner and started getting results quickly so we felt the club was going in the right direction even if we were a level lower than we wanted.

If I supported a team that had a 60k stadium full every week, bought players for £40m, paid wages @£100k/wk+ and had the revenue that they get from global branding then I would be pretty annoyed if the team were getting beaten so easily be a team like Saints.

Its pretty much a similar attitude to West Ham fans in the championship where they thought they were the big boys and that their team should not be losing to 'teams like Southampton'.

The difference is that the Arsenal fans are moaning because of a lack of progress more than anything after all they were title contenders and winners a decade ago and have slipped to also rans that get the 3rd/4th spot now. West Ham fans have had that delusion of grandeur despite never winning or contending anything.

I wouldn't compare it to us in the Championship because we did very well to be in the mix let alone get an automatic place. I would say it was similar more to the Pardew era or maybe even the after 1985 Saints sides. The first because we were massive in budget, brand and support compared to the rest of the league and the latter because the board failed to build on the success that side was having.
