Please please please can we get a manager in who is his own man. Knows he is a good coach, knows what he wants and is mature enough to say enough is enough lets start doing things properly. Win lose or draw, take the lessons out of the game and move on in a professional manner. We need to get rid of the constant drama surrounding the club and remember that remember that together we are a team. Players, staff, owner and fans alike.

I agree with your sentiments, but sadly this is not going to happen while Ashley is at the helm :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Someone needs to walk into that office and tell that fat f*** what is what and show him that he is the man for the job. I think if mike can respect someone he would support them. Not by handing them the purse strings but at least working more effectively together and which may result in a little bit more investment where we need it.

The likes of Pulis and the more obvious ones have never been in the running. It is quite interest
This ****ing Galtier was Perrins assistant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy ****. Mike surely doesn't hate us that much does he? I've given up hoping for something positive.

Anyway the game was a good watch today :emoticon-0142-happy

As being longer than the rest?

Not as a candidate you'd be happy with... Surely..?

Personally, I reckon we might as well get used to Carver, Ashley doesn't give two f***s...

As someone who most resembles Pardew, ludicrously cheap yes man and a dreadful prospect. But McDermott or Carver? I'm in the "anyone but Carver" camp, really. His performances last season were dreadful and I'm not exactly sure he and Stone are part of the solution at NUFC.

Steve McClaren has been the latest mover up to 2nd fav behind Carver, Sherwood 3rd then Galtier and Remi Garde.

How would people feel about Schteve? He seems to have got better with age and his exploits as both Man U assistant and Boro boss shouldn't be overlooked either. I'd be quite happy, given where my Mike Ashley-sponsored optimism is.

And what about Sherwood? A very likely candidate and would come with Sir Les - does the big man alongside make it more palatable??

I wouldn't go so far as happy if we got McClaren, but yes, there would probably be a kind of bitter-tinged relief that it wasn't as bad as it could have been. That's as high as it gets supporting MA's NUFC.

None of the touted options are in any way inspiring, which makes it hilarious the actual appointment will inevitably be worse.

No way are we paying compensation to another club. No way in hell. So that rules out a few of them.

Zero optimism in the appointment, just hope he isn't so shockingly bad we end up getting relegated.

We are on 27 points. Lets presume that the magic 40 points will ensure PL survival, that's 4 wins and a draw. Will Ashley look at that and think "can Carver achieve that?"................ I suspect that he will think exactly that and we will stagger to the end of the season with Carver and Stone at the helm.

If the criteria is to get to 40 points, then I would give it a shot. Nice fat bonus at the end of the season from the fat man and a Sports Direct Gold Card................ lovely!!

I would like to know who would do the interviewing and appointing of a new manager,
because I think this Lee Charnley guy is just another puppet of Ashley,
has anyone ever heard him speak of anything relating to NUFC ??

the reason Caver has been given 2 games is because Ashley can't be arsed to come back
from his holidays to appoint anyone new

It's going to be Carver until the summer.

Bruce or McClaren will be recruited then.

    I reckon <ok>

So this morning Steve McLaren has moved into favourite position ahead of Carver at some bookies. Sherwood remains 3rd Fav, and then its Paul Clement, Galtier and Garde anywhere from 9's to 20/1. Seems a reasonably accurate shortlist, with Carver the worst//cheapest/most likely option.

Clement is an interesting option. Served under Hiddink and Ancelloti. The latter being so impressed he took him to Real Madrid. Whether he is a guy for the top job is obviously open to question. But its a coach not a manager we need really anyway as they don't get any say in most matters. He must have learnt boatloads from Hiddink and Ancelloti. Also worked with Don Givens for the Republic. Impressive CV.

Clement is surely on 10 times more money as Reals assistant than he would as our manager?
