I know it is normally quite quiet on the transfer front with us, but what do we need to help us stay where we are.

Any rumours will be handy aswell. There has been mutterings about Chris Wood coming in to bolster the front line, I would like to see another creative midfielder come in to take the heat of Bish and perhaps another defender as cover.

what do you guys what or heard?

Don't know how bad Jonny William's injury is,but we could do worse than get him back when he's fit again

Apparently JW is fit again and training, I would like to see him back on loan, it all depends on (Pards) or another if he would be available or not, other than that nobody is standing out for me apart from Matt Done Rochdale or perhaps Conor Hourihane at Barnsley.

I would imagine Pardew will splash some cash in January... Probably took the job on the guarantee of being backed in the transfer market. So I would guess that if Joniesta doesn't steal the show in January he will be available for loan or transfer by the end of the month <ok>

As for Chris Wood, I'd be very happy for that to happen, possibly as good a striker we could currently get to be 3rd choice behind Didz & Murph. Would add a bit more of a goal threat than Sammon who seems to be struggling. Would also like a pacey striker to come in... giving us a different angle when putting teams to the sword, someone like Akpom (Arsenal)

Never any good with names, but I think we just need to add quality in depth - particularly up front and forward thinking Mid-fielders.

I would also like to see Hewitt (If he comes back) and Henshall given some opportunities on the wing from the bench.

I'm with Weighty, not sure if we really need anybody. Nobody knows if Bajner would do ok if asked to play, we haven't seen enough of him. Given a run of games because of an injury to someone could see him start playing well. I think we have enough players to cope with a couple of injuries, including the strikers.
We could change the system to a 4-5-1 or 4-1-1 with Bish, Bru or Ambrose in the hole or even back to 4-3-3. I don't think it would be disastrous to keep things as they are. Unlike premier league teams we have the loan window to work with until March if something happens.

I would not be against using our current position to attract a young player with thoughts to the future as I've mentioned before I think that Max Power of Tranmere would be a good investment.

I dont think we particularly need to splash out in the window. We have a solid team that is performing above and beyond,if anything i'd like a bit of cover for dids and murph just in case one gets crocked.Sammon doesn't have it in him and it would be a lot to put onto Marriott.

Surely you should always be on the lookout for players, it increases competition, and keeps the players on their toes, and if you get the right choice of player, you possibly add to the versatility of your team, we have done great so far, but we don't have that ability to retain the ball in midfield, perhaps we need an injection of pace up front, we have pacey players in the squad, but for one reason or another don't make the first team.

Thanks but no thanks to Chris Wood, Conor Sammon mark 2

I'd say the position we need to strengthen most is upfront. Murphy is on fire at the moment and McGoldrick is a class player at this level, however if either is injured we don't really have anyone to come in. Also I think sometimes they can be a little bit static, we've solved this somewhat recently as either the 3rd striker or the midfielders have been willing runners. But a striker to run the channels and the line, just to give a different option when we're on the ball. I think Sammon actually does this well, he just lacks that bit of quality when on the ball.

I'd then say we need a RB, as I don't think Chambers or Parr is the long term answer there, would be nice to see Hewitt given more of a chance but if Mick doesn't trust him, would be nice to see us sign someone.

Then as others have said, perhaps another CM with a bit of creativity, or a playmaker who can dictate play and control matches. One of the biggest flaws I've seen of this team in when trying to hang on to a game we've been very poor at slowing the game down and keeping possession.

We don't want to upset the applecart however

Agree ptc especially if Jonny W does not come back Jan or Feb. Additional striker is a priority for me. Then a fresh creative CM.....last, but not a priority, a RB.

According to the Sun this morning Arsenal are prepared to pip Man Utd for Ipswich Midfield Starlet Teddy Bishop with a £10 Million bid in the window! Obviously written by some bloke in a pub!

" I would also like to see Hewitt (If he comes back) and Henshall given some opportunities on the wing from the bench. "

Cannot see Hewitt playing for us again this season. Apparently he had a shocker last night for Colly, and from memory at Reading right wing he was abysmal there first game. Not sure what he'd offer us? Henshall hasn't impressed many in countless youth games, I think he could do with a spell out on loan and see what happens next season myself.

Would like to see the squad stay intact, unless ridiculous bids come in. If massive bids came for Mings/ Bishop and we could only keep one, then please keep the Bish he's the real deal!

As for new signings, no idea! Bialkowski keeper seems an upgrade. Happy at CB. Perhaps someone to challenge Skuse, goalscoring midfielder, or Chris Wood/ someone like that to pressure the strikers. If Stewart can stay fit he'd be like a new signing.

TBH, Henshall did impress many of us in his fleeting chances. Just bad luck he didnt get a decent run. Would like to see more of him, if we do get injuries. Agree about Hewitt. Footballer's luck....on fringes of 1st team, the odd appearance, out on loan, confidence and self-belief fall away....oblivion! Liked the lad tho, and perhaps deserved better.

Nah he's not good enough he proved that against Crawley where he was total garbage!

If he was any good we would've recalled him from Colchester as opposed to allowing him to stay there for an extended period!
