Thoroughly deserved in my opinion, Jose has taken the on the role as Captain and has been an inspirational leader and has never played better. Morgan has knuckled down and has continued to grow into a first class central midfielder.
Ronald Koeman also got Jamie Carragher's nomination as Manager of the Season.

Might have been more inclined to choose Alderweireld above Fonte in all honesty. Fonte's had an immense season of course, but I feel Alderweireld has that extra touch of class and reliability. Clyne can feel hard done by as well.

You have to respect the opinions of two top class defenders like Neville and Carragher though.

The decision was between Fonte and Cahill and Schneiderlin and Fabregas. Would put Jose ahead of Cahill this season, but really can't make much of a case for Morgan being ahead of Fabregas.

Neville's point was that the midfield would be far too open with Fabregas in there. It's been shown on MOTD that Fabregas doesn't do defending. He doesn't even know how to. Morgan for me too, in that line-up. Along with Jose. One could make a case for Alderweireld over Terry. But nobody outside of Saints would entertain it.

I would certainly make a case for Clyne over Ivanovic, and I might even suggest that Bertrand runs Aspe... the chosen LB close.

We all know Morgan is probably our best player but I don't think he's been our best centremid this season. I'd have Wanyama in before I had him.

Yes I saw Neville mention that, and it makes no sense. This team isn't going to play anybody so formation/tactics are irrelevant. It is simply who has been the best players so far this season in their position. Fabregas is a central midfielder and should be in the team in central midfield, ahead of Schneiderlin. But it was done by a voting poll on twitter which is always just a popularity contest anyway, so we obviously have more fans than Chelsea.

To be fair, I took it as a playing team on paper, and I think Carragher did too.

To be honest, I would say that both Saints selections are wrong. In my view, Toby has been better than Fonte for us, whilst I simply could not select Morgan over Cesc. Absolute rubbish Neville sauing that the side would be too open with Cesc in it ahead of Morgan, given that Cesc and Matic is Chelsea's midfield (and also, bar Cahill, that team has Chelsea's whole back four in it), and nobody is saying that they're too open. Indeed, Sanchez's work effort is at least equal to Willian or Oscar's, if not better.
