We are exactly half way through the premier league season and what a half season its been. Who and why is your best player up till now.

I know its a tough ask as every single player has done their bit in securing us 4th place but i'm only giving you 1 vote so make it count.

My vote goes to Alderweireld, he has been exactly what we needed after losing Lovren. He and Fonte (who i could have easily picked) have gelled so well but his ability to play in more than 1 position is a god send although when he's not a CB we do look more vulnerable.

Like i said its not easy as every player has outperformed our expectations so far but would be interesting to see who comes out on top in the vote.

I can only select 10 options i picked who i think are most likely to get a vote.

    Very tough decision for me. I almost went for alderweireld again, but then I thought about it more;

I have voted Clyne. He hasn't put a foot wrong, he has been so consistent defensively as well as adding goals and assists to his repertoire. An unbelievable full back.

This is bloody hard. I have however made a decision on who to vote for, and I have voted for Nathaniel Clyne.

I've valued goals over the sturdy defence and have gone with Graziano. He may have tailed off and started slowly but he was outstanding in his purple patch.

Exactly. I went for him too - but Clyne was an extremely close second, as was Bertrand ................

Captain Fantastic for me, he is always overlooked in central defence partnerships (Hooiveld, Lovren and now Toby) but is still the constant factor in why our defence has been so solid for the last 5 years. He is having his best season ever and has deservedly been called up for Portugal.

They have all been brilliant but I have had to go for Toby. He can play CB, RB, or DM with equal confidence, and would probably make a decent striker if we were desperate! It is imperative that we nail him down.

It's a measure of how well all our players have performed this season that this poll has been so difficult!

It was between Fonte, Alderweireld, Clyne, Bertrand, Davis and Wanyama for me. I went for Alderweireld.

I must admit Fonte has been excellent since getting the captains armband, but then again Davies,Pelle,Morgan, big Vic,Toby,Nat,etc have done very well....so for me I can't vote at the mo.....too difficult.

Fonte for me too. I'm probably biased in favour of him, but he got into SKY TV's best team so far, last night, along with Morgan. Here was their side of the season so far:

Personally, I think they might have got the wrong RB as well.

I went for Toby because he has played well in his best position, but has the flexibility to play in MF. However, I have no argument if Clyne, Fonte, Bertrand, Morgan etc won the vote. Fonte especially has done well on the pitch, but has also been a great leader for the team...especially in the chaos preseason. If we get into Europe his contribution could be the deciding factor.

Thought I would go a bit left field and go for Steve Davis, he's been very important for us this year, but equally Jose, Morgan, Nat, Ryan, big Vic or Toby could have got my vote?

Went for Pelle as he's the player we'd miss the most and most of our attack stems from his goals and hold up play. 2nd is Alderweireld, 3rd is Schneiderlin.

Toby has been superb, as have Davis, Wanyama, Fonte, Clyne and most of the team to be honest. But, considering I completely wrote him off when we signed him on loan, I have voted for Bertrand. He has been fantastic.

I've gone for Fonte. He's been a brilliant captain and puts his heart and soul into each game. After the Sheffield United nightmare you could see how much he cared so for that and his performances (most of the time) he gets my vote. Can't believe Fran didn't vote for him :emoticon-0104-surpr
