Joe Kinnear can't be far away surely. Ashley has a track record of 'jobs for the boys' so it's surely gonna be an underwhelming one at best. I've got a feeling they're going to go for Venables or Hoddle.
Amazing isn't it - one person punches a horse and 'all Geordies are horse punchers'. Don't think all Geordies act in Unison

It's a tongue in cheek Tag used widely within the british footballing world. Of course you're not all house punchers, but you are the Horse Punchers. You've earned that tag.
Obviously not all Geordies are horse punchers, many of them are Sunderland supporters. But there you go generalising again
Wasn't he in that crazy 'gang' people go on about with the likes of Joe Kinnear? What was it called again ........ oh yeah, the Cockney Mafia
I remember a NUFC tosser at the factory who was gonna chuck his season ticket in if it 'was that **** Pardew.' I hate mags like him, ****ing ****ers. Black & white ****e.
GUS POYET believes the emotional pull of returning to Crystal Palace has played a part in Alan Pardew holding talks with his former club. Newcastle boss Pardew is on the verge of moving to Selhurst Park after the struggling Eagles agreed a compensation package with the Magpies. Pardew will become the first Newcastle manager to leave his post during Poyet’s Sunderland reign, and the Black Cats head coach believes the lure of returning to the club he served as a player has been a key factor in the 53-year-old’s imminent departure from St James’s Park. Poyet, who has overseen three consecutive derby wins over Newcastle, said today: “From the outside, I think they (Newcastle) have been doing alright. “They’re in a position in the table which is comfortable. “They’ve lost players, but apart from one year, they’ve been finishing in the top 10 or 12. “Now, of course, it was a difficult summer and start to the season. “I think it’s very personal (Pardew’s decision). “I don’t know whether Alan is going to explain the move, or whether it will happen. “But I think it’s a feeling inside him; if it’s someone coming for you from a club where you’ve been before. “Plenty of things can influence you.”
