Revolting, yes that certainly is what some of our fans are. Like i have said before, i will not be led by self professed Pied Pipers, marching to the ground behind the Canton and district Rastric band. I will concentrate on supporting the team i have been supporting for the last 40 odd years, i can remember the bad times in the 3rd and 4th divisions and don't particularly relish the thought of doing a Portsmouth. I will renew my season ticket and keep the faith. Dont get me wrong, i am no great fan of Mr Tan, however without him we would have gone into administration, but yes i would prefer the team to play in blue, perhaps i would prefer a different manager. But until the off field problems are solved and sorted we are only going one way. Therefore i would humbly suggest that as supporters we get behind the team and let the rest sort itself out, which given time surely will sort itself out.
The same old mantra was trotted out in 1939 against a dictator. He will see the club cease to exist without opposition mark my words.
each 2 theyre own Ronnie I suppose...............im the complete opposite 2 you brother and would take a pompey over a bullyboy tin pot dictator any day of the week.
Ronnie - I do agree with the need to support the team on the pitch if not those off it, but the players out there need to earn it as well. We are being treated to substandard mind-numbing stuff from allegedley professional footballers being paid a relative fortune when compared to those watching them. What they actually do is heavily influenced by their immediate management - and that is down to Slade and Young. Ultimately they were appointed by Tan - and that's at the seat of the problem at the moment. Tan massive financial presence at the club is another matter, and I doubt another owner controlling the club would put up with the ****e road we're going along right now. He is an imbecile if he can't see that. Ineffective management controlling ineffective players controlled by a despotic owner who sees himself as our saviour. That might be the case financially, but he's actually destroying the club as an entity through his unrelenting power trip.
An open letter to VT http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/...221?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter some food for thought I suppose
A nicely written letter, and hopefully it will not fall on deaf ears, i liked the fact that the author of the letter re-iterated that she was NOT part of any fans group, and pointed out in fighting amongst some of our fans. A neighbour of mine (I live near Blackwood) who is originally from Grangetown, suggested that the fans at the heart of the unrest may well come from that area. I hope not as i feel our fans should be united, owners and players come and go, the fans are about the longest, most of us nearly all of our lives, this is the part that hurts the most, i can remember, vitriol being given to Trezelezski, Clemo et all, it got better under Rick Wright, but he could only take the club so far, which he did, and they were very happy times and a team full of grafters who played their guts out for the club, i can remember Jason Perry coming over to us fans who made the 2 day trek to Vienna for a 2 - 0 loss to Admira Wacker in tears, yes we were disappointed with the result, but the opposition were technically better than us, same goes for the famous FA cup wins against Man City and Leeds, the players and fans all did thier bit for the cause and most of those players are still close to the hearts of the older fans to this day, and it bares out that Blakey and Jason air thier feelings most saturday nights on BBC Wales Radio. What we have at the moment is a bunch of disillusioned players with no direction or leadership, on or off the field, finest example of this is Marshall, who some thought was worth 9 or 10 million, right now we would be lucky to get a fraction of that for him and has shown himself to be a bit of an average Joe, a good shot stopper with no distribution skills, i give that as one example as to how we are playing at the moment. Until we get a senior pro to step up to the helm, we will remain as we are. My hope is to stay in this league this year and for Mr Tan to come to his senses and get the club back on the right track. Will this happen is anyones guess, but if not and we do go into administration (which is doubtful) i feel there will be plenty of takers in the wings. It is a case of the Vultures waiting to see what happens. To put things into perspective and talking to an old shipmate of mine who is a Wolves fan, nobody expected them to get relegated twice, however they seem to be back on the right tracks all be it with an average manager, so there is hope there however it is difficult to foresee at this particular juncture in time. Good luck to you all which ever way you swing.
