Hasn't Pardew got summat like 3 or 4 years left on his contract? What sort of compensation would Palace have to pay to get him released?
If we were in a world where Pardew walks out on a five year contract at midtable Newcastle with no pressure on his position from the chairman to go and take over at relegation battlers Crystal Palace as their 3rd manager in 6 months I think we'd need to reassess our thinking on what would and wouldn't interest the people involved.
What's with these random Sherwood calls? My folks recorded the FA Cup final on ITV for me on which he was a pundit. He wasn't the slightest bit positive or complimentary about us being in the lead at half time and made it pretty clear it's in London he wants to work.
I can understand what you're saying but - is Ashley hanging around at Newcastle? He's trying to get in at Rangers isn't he? I think the only thing stopping him is the SFA due to his Newcastle connections. If Ashley is going, the next chairman will definitely endear himself to the fans if he brings in a different guy. Currently Pardew's stock is pretty high as Newcastle are flying but as soon as things turn the fans will definitely call for his head again - they absolutely hate him. Granted, his contract is pretty long but I'm sure there are certain breakers in there, not sure what they are though.
Interestingly, Burnsie has just tweeted that he thinks Bruce has already turned down Palace this year, presumably when Pulis quit. I dont recall that ever being said before.
It really is astonishing how little you know. I guess that's why just about every post you write is bollox.

A three year contract signed in 2012 ends in 2015. It's not out of date, it's just Steve Bruce talking out of his arse like normal. Edit: even if he was into the part where it became a rolling contract, it'd still be up in June anyway.
