It seems the LFC website has confirmed Gerrard is not fit to go to asia with the rest of the lads and is in rehab still. They talk about being fit for sunderland but we must begin to question when he will get game time in preseason and how truely fit he may be for the off. Further the asia tour will be slightly lacking in stars to excite the locals now. finally, if a doubt hangs over gerrard then you add suarez being at the copa along with lucas you have to start wondering about those first few league games even if they are 6 weeks away.
I reckon they have him scheduled for an intense work-out back at Melwood.At his age,He doesn't need to play as many pre-season games as the others.He'll be back to his best come the start of the season...He's said so himself that he will.
Getting him to be able to play like we know he can is crucial, its the best thing to leave him behind We need him firing on all cylinders next season
Gerrard has been a talisman for Liverpool football club and over the years he has needed this operation on his groin. The operation he is recieving is a recovery which not many players at his age recover from which is why the long period of rest and re-building is required. Hopefully steven can still be as influential in our team as well as helping the new players progress into his role so that the main part steven plays if not playing is coaching the young lads coming into the side. If anybody deserves to win the league it is Steven Gerrard.
I thought SG said himself a couple of weeks ago that he hasn't felt this good about his fitness for years? What the hell happened?
Gerrard's operation was put off for at least 4 years because we didn't have any players in the midfield or even the team who were going to be able to step up and keep us competing at the highest level we did while steven was gracing the field. It shows me that King Kenny has realised that gerrard needs to have the operation to help most of all his health/fitness & so that in the games where that little bit of genius steven does, leads to winning us games where previously he may have been burnt out. Also King Kenny is showing he has full faith in Lucas, Spearing, Henderson, Kuyt, Miereles and the rest of the midfield maestro to perform while steven is absent. This to me shows we do have quality in the midfield when steven is missing for whatever reason.
They don't want to risk him getting injured because he isn't 100% just yet. Its simple, no need to get your knickers in a twist
