Very happy with that. Thought we would be dropping a place or two. Still 4th and going into next game with renewed hope. Luckily for me, unexpected visitors made me unable to watch game.,,,not sure I'd have survived watching that.

 

We can, we showed that against Arsenal and United, but not today. We were second best throughout the whole match and somehow scraped a point. Fantastic result, but I wouldn't glorify the performance.

 

Fabregas has just said that the ref had an awful game and won't sleep tonight. Now I don't think he did too well either but , like managers, should fabregas get fined for those comments ?

What? Our defending as a team was brilliant. I don't know how you can criticise.

I think there's a bit of a misunderstanding of competitive football at the heart of this comment. Sometimes, against a far superior team, you are playing to withstand what they have. In that instance, a draw is without doubt victory and preventing more than one shot on target shows a kind of defensive dominance needed to kick it with the big boys. I see nothing wrong with glorifying a successful performance.

Great performance today, deserved a point and got it for a change.

 

Sorry but that is just nonsense. We were up against one of the top teams in Europe and we stopped them from scoring in a second half despite their having about 70% of the ball. We had some luck, but we got a point and might have sneaked a win with a bit more luck. Our defence was outstanding today, all of them, and we had two stand-in full backs don't forget.

 

Look at the number of shots they manage in most games. 28 against West Ham. 15 against Stoke. A mere 12 against Hull. 26 against Newcastle in their only loss. 12 against Spurs. 24 against Sunderland in that 0-0 draw. 21 against West Brom. 15 against Liverpool.

Today? 7, per the BBC stats. So yeah...we were second best, just as pretty much everyone has been second best against Chelsea. But we also stifled them in the final third to a degree few others have matched.

 

I vote Tintin to do all our match threads from now on...

 

I don't like to see my team defending for 90 minutes, it doesn't constitute a good performance for me, even if the defending was mostly solid.

And show me a fan who wasn't sweating nervously every time Chelsea passed the ball in and around our box, which was all the time.

You bloody what? The performance was great, especially in defence. They only had one shot on target which shows how good we were in defence.

 

Throughout the whole match? Didn't you watch the first half? Pretty equal in my book.
