I'm with you A87, I think it looks horrible! It seems more bulky and difficult to navigate. I'll have to see if I get used to it or if it just annoys me lol
Something quite amusing about the whole thing is reputation being removed, all those Liverpool fans who have spent ages giving each other rep and collecting millions of it only for it to no longer be used!
Sometimes a better look doesn't equal a better experience. This website is not as clear to view as the older one,and needs the colours to be tweaked to make it more clearer to view. The designer has used too many shades of grey where he could have used a different colour instead. The biggest problem is using a dark grey font on a grey background. Running it through this website should help http://contrastchecker.com/. It's not all bad as it looks more current than the previous one.
Apart from the grey, I quite like the new forum. When I copied Lawro's prediction into our All Teams prediction thread, it took the photo too, when the old site didn't. Also like some of the stats. For example http://www.not606.com/members/ shows me that Gerrez can't have any life outside this forum. He has posted 60k + posts - 6 x more than me and I feel I am on here way too much. He/she must be on 24:7. And you can delete your own posts - for those nights when you post after the pub
After looking through it a little more, I'm impressed by the small additions. It is an improvement but needs a few small tweaks
I like it. However it has made me unbanned. I am fine with that but understand if this board disappears in the near future. Will leave it down to oxo and piksie.
There's a proper mobile version now at least. For the desktop version the sticking out avatar/pic is the worst part. If they make that a bit more conventional it'll look fine.
So what's happening with all the banned people who have been unbanned by the forum change? Are we feeling festive enough to make it a clean slate all round? Or shall we re-ban the bastards?
Is it just me finding the new forum really slow? Takes forever to change pages or to post anything... Have had double posts and errors telling me I can't post too.
I actually really like it. My desktop computer is hooked up to my 34 inch telly so the old forum's font size and design hurt my eyes. It didn't make use of the screen very well. This new layout is optimised for mobile and larger screen sizes.
It is quite slow but you are bound to get teething problems with such a large update. It probably doesn't help that we're all on holiday/off work, so the server is having to work harder than usual.
