I think the only hope Poyet had was to hope that Jozy would break his goal drought against the club where the drought started.
So you think he should have ignored his instructions and dropped into midfield to get involved? Because he and fletch didn't get a sniff in the last half hour, when we were meant hunting an equaliser. Everything broke down before it got to them. Fletch and Jozy just don't have the height to win long balls and deep crosses. We don't ask O'Shea to skin fullbacks do we?
I'll not lose as much sleep when the day Jozy is sold than I did when Phillips and Bent were sold. Bad day at the office and well done to Andre Marriner. View attachment 34500
It comes with supporting a team who always have you sitting on the edge of your seat! The 25 years I've supported I can only think of 2 seasons where we havnt flirted with promotion or relegation! i long for a relaxing season where a result like today doesnt leave me infurited, where we are in a position when it can be brushed off, safe in the knowledge that we will perform better next week!! no matter how well we play one week, we are always capable of the total opposite the next! with the exception of the end of last season we never seem to breed confidence! Never bring a good performance into the next game! My team will always have me tearing my hair out! I mean, to go 1-0 up in the first minute, at home against a team who are riddled with injuries, havnt won in ages and cannot score goals......
So having got certain players back from injury and following an away win we then play at home against a team who i honestly thought we would beat ,have we got a team who is geared up to play our best football on the break because we looked as though the more we had the ball the more we gave it away with little no pressure being applied .
I can tell you QQ from experience, it never gets any better. I have suffered from 1956 and like you am still perplexed at our propensity for self harm, it takes despair into a new realms, but nil desperandum Aston Villa next up.
I've said countless times people have some sort of tinted view that he can do no good, all is his fault.
our 'winnable' home games now look so much harder!!! from one result to the next my prospect predictions seem to wildly change! losing games like this hurts me just as much as losing against the town!
bbc match report barely mentions the clear penalties. Sorry but no matter how badly we played, Marriner cannot be allowed to slip under the radar
If we had lost last week, but put in a good performance and won today I think I might have been happier!
play like this at home realistically ,will we, this happens too often its the golden rule HOME WINS against those around you
no we are what we are to ourselves ...****ing football makes you happy then makes you cry ,i have been in the north sea today and it wasnt as bad as watching them today
particularly against teams who are on the ropes! I just knew that we would just not stick the knife here! Hull have the hex over us! 4 times in a row they havnt had to play particularly well to beat us. We have been the architechts of our own downfall. Not so much today! The ref seems to have had a hand, but to not perform against a struggling Hull team, after last weeks confidence booster, is unforgivable! We may have let Hull off the hook! Gave them a helpful hand towards safety, when if we beat them they may have struggled to recover!
