Merson has predicted a 1-0 Sunderland victory. Based on current form, league position & the current levels of confidence within the opposing squads I believe he's made a well balanced call.
We've scrored an utterly appalling and quite frankly disgraceful 2 goals in 9 games, it'd be foolish of him to predict any other result than a home win.
or looking at it another way, statistically we're due a victory and a hatful of goals. Unfortunately same could be said of Leicester though for Sunday.
A few weeks ago, must of us would have predicted 3points for City, however now i think most of us would settle for a draw against a team bouyed by the recent win against their local rivals and decent run of results whereas City just cant seem to dig themselves out of this poor form run. Play well, get a draw and maybe, just maybe, we can put on a cracking performance against Lester and this will be our catalyst for an upturn in results.
Playing well breeds confidence, something we seem to be lackling at the momment. We need a good performance so SB is able to pickout positives from the game, and build on that. If SB can get the confidence levels back that we're in for an enjoyable 2nd half to the season.....no confidence and we will more than likley spiral downwards.
I think we'll lose Sunderland but win Leicester. That won't be enough to get us out the bottom 3 before New Years Day because I predict Palace will get something at QPR.
In this instance I think he's under called it. Sunderland will be able to score a minimum of 3 against our meek pathetic back line. Unobstructed by any defensive midfield, Adam Johnson will have a field day.
We usually do alright against Sunderland, but not this time. It's a sad state of affairs when we are aiming to go to the Stadium of Light and trying to scrape a point. They'll probably beat us.
Sadly for us he got it correct on saturday so let's hope that his luck runs out this time. Time for our lot to put up or shut up.
Id argue that playing well and losing destroys confidence. They might think 'even when we do well we lose, we're doomed'.
This. A result is good for our position in the league table, but the lads have all been playing ****e for months, they really need to play well and put on a good show to galvanise them and get their belief back that they can play a bit. Sunderland will probably win us, but I think we'll take the three points. I don't know. Too tough to call this one.
It would have been an away banker. Hull -3 would have been evens at best, probably more like 4/6 on. Then Cushionfacustacticitis struck
