Just as i had hoped. Didn't let them win the physical battle, competed well on the set pieces, and set the team up well for the counter attack. Spot on having Mikel for this one as i don't think this was Oscar's kind of game. Good displays all round the team. Great change of direction save from Thibaut. Hope Eden's injury is not too bad. As expected he got roughed up a bit but he's a tough little cookie ! And what can you say about J.T. 650 not out and throws in a goal for good measure. England's loss is certainly our gain. Happy days, roll on the turkey !!!

Has to go down as one of our best results of the season. Pressure was on having had City draw level with us and having slipped up in recent away games. Away to Stoke under the lights on a Monday, I honestly expected us to drop points. Very pleased with the 3.

Tough run of fixtures coming up now though against City's very winnable ones.

Quick mention to Matic who was immense.

Thank god for that. Solid performance at a tough place to win, happy days.

Three very tough games next though which will definitely prove our mettle.

I'm not yet convinced. I think we have the team to do it and have done well this first half of the season. However City look very good at the moment as well and 3 points is nothing in December.

United might yet have a say as well given they have very little else to do for the next 6 months.

    Not convinced either tbh.
3 points isnt a great deal.
If we can increase that lead to say 5 or more by the end of January, then I will be more confident.

Though, as I mentioned, we have been to pretty much all the "dodgy" grounds for us (OT, Etihad, Stadium of Light, Goodison, Anfield, St James Park) and we play all those teams at home in 2015, so we SHOULD have an easier time of it....but anything can happen.

Like I said, tough run of games in a short space of time coming up; Spammers, Southampton and Spurs. City have West Brom, Burnley and Sunderland and will more than likely come away from those 3 games with 7-9 points. We have to do the same before they get to their tougher run of Everton, Arsenal and then ourselves.

If we get 9 out of 9 over this next period (which will be tough but not beyond us) then I think the title is ours to lose.

City will have to go to OT and Anfield with the two sides probably out of their poor form.

By the end of this period we would have been to Etihad, Anfield, OT, WHL, Britannia, St James, Stadium Of Light and St Mary's as well as Selhurst Park.

Only tough away trips for me then would be Swansea, Arsenal and Villa, ones that we would be more than comfortable to come away from with wins.

    Come on you blues.

stoke fan in peace, well played last night lads you have one hell of a team there. We were beaten by a better side and you are by far the best team to come to the Brit this season. Good luck for the rest of the season lads im sure you will win the prem and have a good shot at the champs league

Nice post so thanks. We have a team that can play different styles and play tough when we need to.Always a tough time at your place and same again. Apart from one rash tackle, which was not quite a red for me, both teams probably gave what they got and the ref did well I think. What a good player Peter Crouch has been and still is. Glad we got the points, but we definitely had to earn them. Go well rest of the season.
