According to the BBC http://www.not606.com/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=55 nice early business Garry ! FFS - here's the link http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30587905 (Valley)
Smart move to get him to be able to train 10 days early. Come Jan 1 he will be able to feature and will have settled in hopefully. Credit to the club for getting the business done ASAP. How good is he lads? Also, does this mean that Gomis is on his way to CP?
If you find out, let me know I'd say the fact that they've moved quickly here would suggest that there'll be no problems/snags with the transfer.
Have to say totally underwhelmed again by our loan signing. His goal ratio is piss poor 8 in 30 last season in the French league and 4 in 39 for Deportivo overall 20 in 130. Have a feeling it will be another Schekter or Vazquez. We dont seem to do so well when it comes to loan signing strikers but he is on board so good luck to him and welcome.
He's apparently coming in ten days before he is eligible to play; that's commitment and it looks like he is on a mission. Gomis needs to put up or move on. I'm somewhat underwhelmed by Gomis. Granted he is being compared to Bony .... and who the **** can compare to him ... but still I wouldn't bet money on him scoring a goal - he just doesn't look a threat when he's on the field.
He will be gomis's understudy but should get some time off the bench. He has 14 caps for Portugal scoring one goal so he has international experience that says he has skill. He is keen to try his hand at premiership football that he thinks may well suit him better and monk is willing to take him on loan with an option to buy if he warrants it at the end of the season...
We've been after, or at least linked, with this guy for years haven't we ? A few Benficistas I know rate him highly and excuse his low goal tally to him playing from the bench in most games as they have, had, Rodrigo Moreno Machado, now with Valencia, Eduardo Salvio and their favourite Rodrigo Lima ahead of him. They say he plays a similar game to Roonie preferring to attack the box from the second wave. Fingers crossed he'll do us proud. I think me/we are being unfair to Gomis. It's so hard to get confidence or consistency from the bench and especially for him when he rarely gets more than 25 minutes to put a game together. The ball is at his feet now, he has 4/5 weeks to bed himself in, gain confidence and find the back of the net. Good luck Bafe, show us what you can do.
Stumpy If rated so highly why are they hapy to let him go. This is not a criticism just wondering If he has requested to go.
Trunds Have you seen the players that cant get into the chelsea side or man city side, That is not saying these players are not as good ....this new player has 14 caps and highly rated in his own country and was a partner to Ronaldo so he obviously is talented. Our style of football could well be good for him and the lad is very keen to give the premiership a go. Gomis will be the No1 striker and this move will spur him on. Remember Bony was not wanted by anyone at first and that has made him a better player for which if he can just improve his finishing will end up as one of the greats...
you did not know him when he first tried his luck at finding a club a few years ago. he was rejected as not good enough..
I thought the selling of Suarez and his replacement by Lambert and Balotelli was proof of that - neither of whom can move never mind score at the same level of Suarez .... even if you put them both in the same body.
Well that goes without saying, but my statement still stands, we are not a charity for lost causes, or are we?
