Apart from Andy Dawson, have we ever allowed a truly decent club servant to leave with a dignified send-off?
Well Ash didnt, he handed in a transfer request and was promptly dropped. You picked probably the worst example possible.
Koren maybe, but Ash left rather abruptly. The only chance the fans had to applaud his efforts was when he returned with Preston a few weeks later.
so he goes to a team higher up the Prem - says it all really - still waiting for someone to come in for Junior - as no-one ever will his dad will continue to look after him
Ash was given enough rope to hang himself & then the club opened the trap door. His well documented exploits with Bullard didn't help his cause...or his marriage !!
It seems fair comment regarding McShane. He has been offered an olive branch, if he is committed to the club he will act accordingly.
Brucie needs to stop acting like a twat and stop falling out with players and pick the best team - it wont be any good at the end of the season apologising for getting us relegated and claiming it would have been all so different if a few players had only said sorry to him
Chris Chilton and Mally Lord had testimonials. I still think it's sh*tty there wasn't any mark of respect for Iain Hesford
I sort of agree what your saying about marks of respect - but you do have to draw a line - Iain only played about 90 times - many more players represent the club for longer - I only checked very briefly but both Richard Garcia and Michael Turner were well over 100 times - you would be remembering someone every week if you're not careful - it can only be for those players who have made a significant long term contribution and shown significant loyalty
This is his own doing. He's been frustrated while sitting on the bench, despite the fact he's not a good footballer, and there's better players in our team at present & in the last few weeks it's spilt over. Him gobbing off isn't helping anyone. Not saying Bruce hasn't helped matters, but it's completely all Macca's own doing.
I can remember the days when Bruce lost the dressing room of Sunderland. How could I forget? It will be interesting to see if Bruce can turn it around at Hull. He was definately way beyond the point of return at SAFC when we lost to Wigan at the stadium of light, however you just never know if he could of turned it around had we stuck with him. Either way, we made the correct choice because we survived.
These blokes get paid more a year than any of you will earn in a lifetime. To play football a couple times a week at worst. It's no wonder some of them act like ****s when you think you need to have a nice leaving party for them when they get an offer that carries on paying them more a year than you'll ever earn... He's had his best days with us, they've gone now, and so should he be. Thanks for some infrequent awesome performances Macca, now **** off so we can get someone else in to pay that ridiculous amount of money to.
We don't know what he's actually done though do we? Seems he's got pissed off at not playing and said something, but we don't know. Publicly asking for an apology without saying what for seems an odd move. Surely if it was that simple they'd have sorted it already before it got as far as Twitter?
Brucie knows that Macca is a fan's favourite and that all knowledgeable fans think he should be in the squad - he needs to publicly justify why he's not being picked - he wouldn't be doing this if it was Junior it would all be hushed up - I'm afraid first bit of pressure and Brucie is totally losing it
I like mcshane as much as the next guy, really though he's not good enough for the prem. His only saving grace is he's a lot better than alex ****ing bruce but yeah...... nepotism!!
