Asamoah Gyan's agent has refused to rule out the striker leaving Sunderland this summer.

The former Rennes ace has been linked with a close-season move despite only joining last August following a £13million switch.

Russian outfit Zenit St Petersburg are thought to be interested and agent Fabien Pivateau claims at least one bid has been made.

Pivateau has confirmed Gyan will be returning to pre-season before he holds crunch talks with manager Steve Bruce over the striker's future.

"I can't say if he is staying or not," explained Pivateau in The Sun. "As far as I know one club has tabled an offer.

"He is returning to the club for pre-season and we will sit down with the coach to talk about it."

Well, the roller coaster that is SAFC looks to have started up again. Hopefully this is nonsense, but something tells me he may be on his way......

hope its a load of bull - cant see why Bruce would want to sell Gyan (especially if its only to replace him with Bellamy)

Plus Gyan said he was staying only a short while ago. His agent is stirring ****, and probably behind that email rumour.

    (21st June) http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/sunderland/9518349.stm

Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan has rejected reports linking him with a move away from Wearside, saying he is "fully committed" to the club.

"I am not leaving Sunderland and I am not interested in these rumours in the newspapers and the internet," Gyan told African website MTNFootball.com.

The Ghanaian scored 11 goals in his debut season on Wearside last term.

Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn recently described reports suggesting Gyan was for sale as "embarrassing".

"I am fully committed to Sunderland because I love the institution and traditions of this club," Gyan added.

"I am staying at Sunderland next season and the foreseeable future as I am looking forward to meeting my team-mates and Sunderland fans when we return next month."

Gyan is Sunderland's record signing, having joined from French club Rennes for a fee in excess of £13m in August 2010.

The 25-year-old has endeared himself to Black Cats supporters with his enthusiastic style and some important goals, including an injury-time equaliser in the Wear-Tyne derby against Newcastle in January 2011.

I wager his agents sees that Gyan is the 'main man' now, whereas maybe Bent was when Asamoah signed.

Probs trying to shark him a few quid extra, but my feeling is that Gyan is the honourable and honest kind.

He'll be here next season, i don't doubt it.

What a load of rubbish, note the important partin this article which is it's what the agent is saying not Gyan himself. Gyan is under contract and a long one at that. It would take a massive bid for us to sell him and I am talking 30m plus.

Bruce has persuaded players like Larsson, Gardener and Wickem to sign, he would not have managed that if he told them we were selling our best players.

As for Bellemy? not a chance.

    Agreed.

These players will have held up players like Gyan as a shining example of why they should come here.

In my eyes he's worth more than Carroll, his worldwide profile alone must be worth millions to the club, he's been to 2 World Cups, and a few ACN's, and he's still got 10 years in the tank.

I'm half expecting him to be off, but not in this way. Agent crap, just wondering if he was to leave where it would be for?

Not good enough for one of the big clubs, so maybe a foreign team.

But this article is just Agent crap, so when i hear something more concrete i'll believe it.

I reckon we'll have him for another season then he'll be away. Might be his time to shine this season. Hope so ...

I personally think that Gyan may be with us for a few years.

He didn't like the lack of a winter break mind, so if he did leave, i feel it would be overseas rather than within England.

I'd say one of the mammouth Istanbul clubs would be a likely bidder.

Looks to me like his agent is hankering for a bumper new contract for Gyan.

What - how do you blame Bruce for this - Agents are a ****ing bunch of poisonous leaches and just want one thing - money and this bloke is obviously a complete twat talking to the Sun about Gyan when SAFC like to do their business quietly - hope he gets hit by a ****ing bus (The agent that is)
