McShane now needed just to fill the bench, what a ****witted decision it was to isolate a player when the squads down to the bare bones.
Have to say, the Livermore/Huddlestone partnership looks like the "two kids at school" who think they can run the show by coasting through games. The last few weeks, BOTH have been found out, and today Livermore was hurrendous. Need their heads banging together! Maybe this is Quinn's time to FINALLY establish his deserved first XI place.
Just what we need. Meyler and Quinn in the middle of the park, that is championship quality and no denying.
Jake livermore. Full of endeavour. Engine is superb. Really really tries. Not strong enough in the tackle. Will not take responsibility to have a shot, drive the team forward or grab the game by the scruff of the neck and make it happen. Would rather play it back to a CB than, with time and space, turn around and go forward and drive his team on. If Hudd is playing he will literally only pass to Hudd. Jonjo Shelvey is a ****. Slow predictable and a **** but anywhere near goal he will shoot, and look what happens. It seems Jake will do anything not to shoot. Oldest rule in the CM handbook, pass the ball and your passing the buck. jake always passes the buck.
I really don't get all the anti Livermore posts. Yeah ok a few things went astray today but is there any wonder when the other two players in the midfield tyre are as lightweight as Meyler and Ramirez? The amount of work Livermore was having to get through was ridiculous and there's no wonder he made one or mistakes. There were many worse performances today and at least Livermore puts the effort in and some of his early work was very good but it's no wonder his game suffered with the amount of work he got through!
Stays fresh for the sunday game with Leicester City mind. Along with Huddlestone, Livermore will travel with the main party to Sunderland.
He received the ball v Swansea from throw ins twice during the game and his attempted return pass went straight out of play both times , I would expect that from Meyler and not a player who we paid £8m for , shocking.
