With Wenger's post 'Invincibles' Youth strategy in absolute tatters, surely it is now time for him to admit defeat and either make some experienced signings to arrest what has been a steady decline in team results since 2006. If the rumours of players wanting out are even half true we could end up with a team that starts next season looking like this Szcezney Sagna Cahill Vermaelen Enrique Diaby Song Wilshere Ramsey Chamakh Gervinho The question is can a side like this side win anything either? I'm doubtful
If the Board get a good enough offer for him believe me they will sell him and no mistake. With our so called 'wage' structure he will not stay if he can get more elsewhere, he is good enough to be in a team that wins things, i'm surprised Man Utd aren't interested in him.
Hello Berba, why have you opened an account under another name ? For those that don't know him Jimbo is in fact Berbnanidez. He skulked away from not606 a while ago vowing never to return.Rather than using his old name he has opened a new account
Well we shall see won't we. The fact is that if clubs offer big money for either the Board will sell. This has always been the case and i see no difference here. most other clubs have the good sense not to sell to their close rivals but Arsenal don't seem to care about that, it's a case of give us the money and you can have whoever you like.
re- the youth strategy. It hasn't really produced what we thought - but AW will never concede. He used to say this young team will win things. We are waiting, and waiting, and waiting.
if you was to play our youth team in the premiership they would probably finish mid table - so how can you say that the youth strategy is in tatters? are there enough players coming thru right now? no not right now but it does take time and these things dont happen over night! An example is Wilshere who has come thru the youth set up and has been with the club for a long time working his way up the ladder - you only have to look at the talent in the youth teams and reserves to see the quality that is there - it will just take a final push for some of these players to realise there full potential
Even if your strategy is in tatters, Wenger won't change his strategy. Losing's not so bad when you've got the moral high ground.
Everyone seems to forget that the UEFA financial fair play rules will come into effect soon. All of these players like Clichy and Nasri to name a couple are saying they want to win things... sure Man City got into Europe this year... but at what cost?? I read somewhere that 130% of revenue is going on wages? They dont even make enough money to pay for the players they have! Yet they are still spending. What happens when in a year when these rules come into effect that they can't shift these players because they have such high wages, no other club can afford them? Man City wont be able to participate in Europe, then what happens to Nasri? Arsenal has a very good business model, and prob in a year you are going to be in a much better situation. You will be in Europe while Man City will prob have to forfeit due to the FFP rule. I like Arsenal, and want them to do well each year. Don't like how Chelski and Citeh have bought Europe, whereas yourselves have worked hard to produce talent and spend within your means. I do think alot of clubs are going to get caught very short in a year or so, and players like Nasri who are hunting for money are going to regret their decisions when they can't play in Europe.
the FFP rules are in effect from this season, but on a rolling 3-year deal. so the first season they could affect teams is the 14/15 season.
Youth strategy is also Man Utd strategy ... yet they can still compete on a higher level ============== Man Utds youth strategy is spending massive amounts on players already making their name in the premiership. Not the same really, is it.
