You've guaged it on nothing but your own warped opinion. Why not go back to the 50s, 60s, 70s? You've conveniently picked the 80s to support your argument, where Chelsea were very poor and even suffered relegation vs Spurs who were bagging trophies left right and centre. Funny that they'd have higher attendance isn't it?

Now as I said before, go away. Not one person wants you here.

Don't cry Drogs i'm only doing what you lot have done and picked out an example. I am only replying to posts that 'so called' Chelsea fans need to be educated on. I am sorry if you want to forget the past, like say an ex player but sadly it's fact. You mugs have created 2 posts about our 'tin pot club' that you 'care nothing for' and hate it when we stand up for ourselves and correct you. I know 'ticket boy' got a slap from some QPR fans and needs to vent his anger but if you keep knocking us expect some in return. Remember it wasn't us who started these threads.

Unlike your posts about our current situation?

Els, don't know how old you are, to be honest not too bothered. I have seen you refer to us 'sneaking' into your ground and other fkin nonsense that comes into your imaginary little world.

I have followed Chelsea for almost 5 decades and I am mellow. Let me tell you the score.

Arsenal - dodgy as **** at times, particularly late 70's, early 80's.

Yids - Game as fu%8 at any given time. Anytime, any place.

West Ham - Horrible, fkin evil. Shamed us one particular day.

Millwall - As above but better

OPR - Total p**s take. Owned the whole lot ..... ground, stadium, the jewson.

Fulham - Slightly better than QPR.

Barnet - Pi^$ ed all over both QPR and Fulham.

You can give it all you want in CCTV world and times of heavy, non proportionate prison sentences but above is how it was when it mattered. You were/are/never will be fu^& all.

2014, the day QPR became a mob - ON THE INTERNET.

Bloody hell Ellers you absolute bore!!

Do Chelsea have plastic fans. Yes, as do all 'big' clubs.

So do middle tier clubs like QPR who get to a Wembley final and take 10's of thousands but can't fill half their allocation for one of the biggest away games in the premier league at Everton. So you have plastics as well. Simple.

Difference is we have a much more loyal following as we dwarf your attendances home and away, up and down the country. Bore off about the 80's, we're talking about here and now. Take away your bi-annual sing song v us and you're fan base is ****e mate.

Bitkosb you are talking funny? You claim to have been going to Chelsea for years yet you use a term like 'LoL", stop which is a term normally associated with the young generation? Who you trying to be?

    This.

He picks a point in our history when were exceptionally **** and Spurs were on the rise.
    Chelsea had 11 years of 20k? <laugh>

I think you will find our average attendances in the mid to late 90's were a lot higher than 20k bud. I should know, as that was the period when I attended most games.

Even when were finishing mid table we still had gates of 25-30k by 1995 onwards.
So having 20k gates until 2000 is utter bullshit.

Your club is utter ****, right to its core, darling, embrace it, you will feel much better.

I don't remember Chelsea being a well supported club until after Harding arrived. The rise of hooliganism during the years, and the measures against them could also be a factor in the lower gates, and the dilapidated state of the ground, which was a joke tbh. I remember a tree growing over the back of the away end.

Fair enough. We would get big gates one week, 55000 v Fulham and 44k v Saints and Hull in Div 2 then down to 15k the next.

You are correct, our crowds rose again in the 90s like all clubs after sky came in.

By 2002/3 before Ronan arrived we averaged 39770 and 39k 2001/2

Precisely my point. People are focussing on the 80s rather than prior decades. We had some brilliant gates in the 50s, 60s and early 70s but you're right, when hooliganism became rife they seemed to drop along with the quality of our side.

There were a lot of factors, but the fact is successful teams will always attract more support, which is why the best teams have the most support. You have bought your success and with it enlarged your fan-base, but I don't remember Man U being much shakes in the 80's either, Liverpool were the side with lots of Cockney voiced supporters, then a foreign Billionaire pumped a load of money into them and now the colours are the same but the badges different, the colour will change to blue with the next generation, but will it be light or royal blue?
If we (WHU) continue to improve as we have done under Allardyce and somehow manage to make it into that coveted top 4 (oh, how that would piss off the Spuds), then I imagine our fan-base would probably increase a bit too, people would rather watch a team that wins more than it loses, and we got here with money we don't have. The sums may be smaller but we had foreign billionaire money and were happy to have it, until it turned out that, unlike Romans Oil barrels, our owners biscuit ones were actually empty.

Once again the OP (who doesn't attend matches himself) posts about QPR in order to start a long thread. I'm pretty sure that when this thread gets so long that it proves how much you care about us, it will closed to stop you further embarrassment, like last time.

My guess is its only you and Elsie who are keeping this fred live because you bite at his every word. We all know you have the poorest away support ever also most of us don't care either though it is a source of amusement at times.

And there was us all hoping as a Spud fan you was going to tell us all about the plight of the small club and away support when all you have are the same spiteful tendancies of your hero bum-boy Hiag.

Disappointed in you fella, enjoy the fred. <ok>
