Having said that I have had 2 but neither meant I missed a game, one of which was the day after! Gather Isla cannot play tomorrow for this reason. If you were a professional footballer, would you not 'time' it so it coincides with Late May/June/July? Doesn't take much working out, surely.
Surely most babies are born in February or March from June/July conceptions? Gotta do something to pass the time between football seasons!
No joke, aqua. We are now missing Isla (as we have Vargas). Work back 9 months from June/July. Even a thick footballer can do that. If Caulker isn't fit we would then have to play RF at c/b and Onouha r/b . Unacceptable, in my opinion.
Do you use brains to F mate? The Mums to be just may have a bit of a say in all that too, no joke right!
Very serious and not worrying one bit. I arrange my life/work around football and would expect a footballer earning £1000's per week (paid by us) to do the same? No-one else seems to agree with me, judging by the replies!
He didn't play for us when conceived so not his fault, Arry's fault signing a player with a pregnant wife, not once but twice. its why the crouchy deal is off, Abby's only got herself preggers again. Bring back Martin Allen, he knew how to deal with this
I daren't ask her! Was allowed to Rangers though, the day after our 1st was born. Also got married in close season. Start as you mean to go on, I say. I may sound like a Victorian dad/husband, maybe I am , but I do feel q strongly about it, as you my have gathered! If it were Charlie Austin (rather than a right back) I am sure people would react differently.
Yes, Caulker is apparently fit again. So Ned can switch to RB......or we could try SWP at right back, if memory serves me right he did OK when it was tried before.
Either this is a joke or for someone with two kids you know very little about conception, only around 20% of couples get pregnant in the first month they try, so footballers should do what? Only try for a month or two per year and then wait till the next season? Not sure what planet some people live on!
OP is asking the wrong question. Its nothing to do with timing. That's irrelevant because the woman has the baby, not the man (at least it was the last time I checked). These players slouching off like this should be on cold terms with the Manager when they get back, just like Giovanni Trapattoni and the wealth of players who pulled out of his squads a couple of years ago. First Vargas and now Isla. Not good enough.
Could be worse, what about all the fathers who take "Paternity Leave" and the poor employer who has to pick up the tab for those weeks and arrange for others to cover the work load. Lets get a bit realistic please, he's missing one game to be with his wife whom I assume he will be leaving in Chile to be back over here for the Xmas/New Year games..... Blown out of all proportion......
