Rio's broken it twice and hasn't yet been banned. The ****er re-tweeted an intimidation-intended slur because someone wouldn't change their evidence based upon their own skin colour in a criminal court case involving Rio's brother. Had Glen Johnson or Raheem Sterling done that they'd get 5 games, minimum.
Don't know what you're talking about. Balotelli was a live wire on the day. Very dynamic. Full of cumberbatchean menace.
Btw, get off Balotelli's back everyone- you're doing the dirty work of the Mail and Sky. It's been a hopelessly bad signing, but I don't blame Mario one jot. We may have well have bought Jozey Altidore and blamed him when it become ****ing obvious he was just not suited to our play.
I've never blamed Mario, we should never have signed him and it is 100% Brod's fault that we did. The only criticism I give him is about his work ethic and that IS his fault.
It's got **** all to do with him being punished for "racism" though- and isn't that what this thread is about?
Its what the thread is called but I reckon most are just having a laugh. No doubt thats not everyone but thats certainly the case for me. I'd rather have Mario on the bench for a Plan B should we need one.
Perhaps- and I certainly wouldn't try and tell someone else what they're thinking- but it's clear that there have been some fans who have been against him before he even kicked a ball for us, and I think that a lot of the banter is cover for a genuine attack. It wouldn't matter now if he improved his game, because many will refuse to even consider that improvement. It seems to me there are those (not pointing the finger here at you, btw) who are happy to see him fail because they predicted it and they appear to derive some satisfaction from that. Giving an honest criticism of one's own players is fine, but gratuitously getting on their back for every move they make is not what being a supporter is about, for me. That's my opinion, and I'm aware that not everybody shares it, but when a dissatisfaction with his performances on the pitch spill over into acceptance of a clear injustice towards someone more sinned against than sinning then I won't go along with it.
I've been unhappy since there were rumours of him signing for us and have taken every opportunity to state how bad a player he is, I'd like to think that my opinion was based on the small knowledge I have from watching him play. To me he's everything I don't want in a player and I cannot stand that he is part of the club I love so my venom towards him is sometimes over the top. As always I would love him to prove me wrong and become a club legend but in this case I really, really don't see that happening and for the moment I am glad that he seems to be playing a small part in our games.
Hes an absolute joke of a player luv. Why a tiny minority think any liverpool fan should give him their support is beyond me. Hes proven you right in every game. Some may claim he was one of your better players against United but that works against him even more. Takes a massive derby game against hige rivals for him to put in some kind of effort? Bollocks. We've had our fair share of poor players, players wuth bad attitudes and lazy players but each has given their all for united. Balotelli doesn't, for any club. He never has.
Fair enough, and many of us predicted that the likes of Studge, Sterling and Hendo wouldn't be too impressed with the sight of him standing on the halfway line with his hands on his hips whilst they ran 12/13 k a game. But I think I saw the stats that he's run more for us than he ever has done before (still not enough by our standards), and in the Everton and Hull games (Hull in particular) he was kicked to buggery and didn't retaliate; and that's a factor that we haven't exploited at all. Look, even though it was a relatively inexpensive punt (except for £90k a week wages) my grind is not with the player, rather more that the money could have gone toward Shaqiri and/or Berahino, neither of whom are Godsends or panaceas, but would have been more in line with our style and development. Can't compare Balotelli with the train wreck that is the signing of Lovren. never heard of him till he scored against us at Anfield (maybe we should have bought some Cardiff and Norwich defenders on that basis) and was expecting Mark Lawrenson for £20m-odd. And though Markovich is looking more like Craig Johnson than Jovanavic these last two games, I still think he's been twice as disappointing as Balotelli by far. That said. get rid of Mario asap for all our sakes, but at least wait until the end of the season to see if Lovren improves, and longer for markovic.
It's good that fans do that though and I would normally do that and I suppose I am in Lovren but with Mario I simply cannot bring myself to do it.
I agree. Some people just want to criticise him for the sake of it. Some people actually thing Lambert is better.
