I dunno - it's a lot easier for Abramovich to fund new signings with petrodollars than by trying to sell a flat / boat / plane. Whilst he has moved most of his money outside Russia, it's in non revenue producing assets like property, yachts and football clubs. He'll still be reliant on his Russian businesses for cash flow. Probably won't affect you too much, what with the plan being to only spend what you earn. But the oil price and rouble crisis will mean Abramovich will find it harder to buy you another Torres, Luis or Hazard if you need one in a pinch.
I'd say we are at a good level of self-sustainability, I doubt a small chunk of his own money is going to affect us greatly. As for the last bit, I actually hope that's true. Might force us to play the youth a bit more.
It won't affect you one iota imo. As he can't massively subsidise the club anymore anyway due to FFP. The only way this could affect you is if he decided the time was right to cash his chips in.
He'll never be brought to account, well not in the legal sense anyway........ Once Putin's gone he's a dead man walking........
Some German guy in his 70's lost 6 million on the porsche/VW shares issue a few years ago. He was so pissed off, he stood in front of the local express train and ended up in several bits all over the tracks. even though he lost the 6 mill, he was still worth a couple of billion. Silly sod, even if he had lived to a 100 he still couldn't of spent it all. Its the equivalent of us losing a 20 quid note in the pub, but does it warrant ending it all?
