Never take these games lightly. Been dumped out by Sunderland and Swansea last two years. Would have preferred Sheffield for a bit of rotation but beating Liverpool and maybe Spurs along with Arsenal to win this would be sweet.

I will also settle for league today. Last season I was hyper bullish for the league. This season not so much. Last season was the best and easiest chance for Jose!! Dave & Manny - both were green and had no winning experience. Still Jose passed up that chance by playing with 'No striker & just 10 men' policy!
I said this, but he needed to prove he had to buy other (certain) players to the owner. He gave up the title to get the chance of building the team you have today, i think he knew what he was doing and will benefit from it
In fairness we couldn't offload Torres, which was the main stumbling block to getting a new striker in. Should have shelled out on Bony, especially as he was at our 'friendly feeder club'. Nemanja Matic was the key signing and despite what a lot were saying last year, Ashley Cole is surprisingly barely missed. Jose states that nothing is doing in January but if we could get in a box to box midfielder like Khedira or Strootman has been mooted then I think we can be happy with our business.
I don't think we specifically need anyone but Khedira and Ruis at Dortmund I believe are coming to the end of their contracts. If you can get players like that in for decent money its worth it to freshen things up and improve the squad as a whole.
Honestly don't think the Spuds will get past Sheffield United but should we prevail I'd love to play the blades at Wembley.
Have to agree with you. Jose managed expectations last season. We would have won the league in April 2014, had he shipped Nando day one! It would have papered over the cracks! We wouldn't have had Costa or Fab.
With Luis, Azpi, a revitalised Ivan and Zouma, and JT of course we look really good at the back. We also look really good at the front and the sides ! With young Abe ( or his cousin) Ake we look good for back up to Matic. All we need is a similar player to Fab, like Khedira etc and we are unbelievably strong. Think that will happen seasons end, not January.
Taking Khedira on a free would be a huge coup, and having worked with him already, I am sure it is something that Jose would be looking into. If Jose wants him, Jose will get him.
