Unlike God, fans forgiveness isn't automatic.

But we are soft, an 8-0 victory could be a move in the right direction.

Oh come on it's just fans letting off steam..they are frustrated just as you are!
There is never any guarantee that a team is going to play well in every game. At this stage of the competition there is no dead certs as to a result. That as they say is football....ask Liverpool or any of the other sides that are not so consistent.

 

Yes, sorry he did try too, and him Toby, and Shane were the only three players to come over to us at the end. I can understand the others' disappointment, but it would have been nice to have a few more acknowledgments, especially after a disgraceful performance. Anyway, I will draw a blue line under this one, and move on.

 

As I said on twitter - Mane tried to come over to the fans, but missed.

 

That is not true. People would have been no happier had we got 1 point in 5 League One games and then lost to a League Two or lower team in a cup.

I'd go so far as to say that people are less upset about this sort of performance now than they would have been at any other time in the last decade.

We passed the team coach at approximately 2.00pm this afternoon on A34 just north of Newbury for those enquiring earlier in the thread about the team's return.

Back from a 5 day sojourn taking in the delights of the Lancashire Dales, but unfortunately also 2 Saints games.

Saturday's game was spoilt by Tadic.

Last night we were abject, but worse for me personally was a large group of Saints 'fans' who were drunk, loutish, thuggish and completely offensive. They decided after half time to stand in the nearest gangway to where our 'seats' were, whilst they insulted all around them and were aggressive to one another. Much unnecessary pushing and shoving, whilst the famed South Yorkshire Police politely watched.

 

We are known for our fans being well behaved....is this yet another sign of what happens when you become a 'bigger' club. Hope not.

Bit late but my first chance of coming on here since the match. Travel up there was dreadful, the coaches were held outside Sheffield for an hour, until the police finally decided to escort us to the ground arriving 10 mins before kick off (7 hours after we left Southampton). Didn't get much better than that afterwards, whoever scored that first goal would have won the match, it was that sort of game. Another day to forget. Bring on Everton, hopefully Tadic ad Pelle come back fresh!

 

Actually, you have no right to any standard when buying a ticket. It's a sport. Things go badly sometimes and you feel Let down, but you have no right to anything when buying a ticket for a football match, apart from entrance to the ground and a view of the game. I do believe you have the right to have toilet facilities available.

 

I wish I could get refunds on my season tickets for the relegation seasons.....

 

In all the gloom, I nearly forgot my happy clapper role. There was, of course, one day of light.

Agreed. I thought he was really bright in the first half, and was very surprised he came off at half time.
