Jo Pavey or Lewis Hamilton. Good to see Simple Minds can still rock it. 1st candidate Lizzie Arnold - wearing a dress that is made from bacofoil. Extremely boring and chucked on a few pounds. 2nd candidate Gareth Bale -Alice Band wearing Welshman. rank outsider but will get extra votes as he is into consensual sex - hasn't bothered to turn up. 3rd candidate Max Whitlock will appeal to the gay community and Arsenal fans. Terrible shoes and chalky hands. 4th candidate Adam Peaty swimmer, as pale as paper and a skin condition that makes his body look like our white away kit. 5th candidate Lewis Hamilton very pretentious , arrogant and a poor mans James Hunt. Please leave the diamond earring at home, you look like a Rochester gypsy 6th candidate Charlotte Dujaden. Nearly a Milf. Very posh totty that spends far too much time with her horse. 7th candidate Jo Pavey my favourite. Breastfeeding 6 months before winning a World Cup gold medal- looking at her you do wonder how the kid did not starve. 8th candidate Carl Froch quality boxer but has all the charm of a beheading. Typical boxer without grace and class. 9th candidate Kelly Gallagher and guide Charlotte Evans down hill skier. gave a masterclass in humble and sincerity. 10th Rory Mclroy likeable for about ten minutes Irish golfer. Oozes smug and blarney. Will win the publics over cos he loves his mum. .
It is Yarnold not Arnold and her and her family are Charlton fans, so she gets my vote. She is a very nice lady and not at all boring. A credit to England and her Family.
Lewis Hamilton is a complete bellend. Totally underserved award. if he wants to impress me, he should drive for Skoda
She is a credit to sport talent identification. And I don't believe that Charlton Life rubbish either. Anyone that lives in Kent is a charlton supporter. I even heard that Winston Churchill was supposed to be a season ticket holder . And she did look like a chicken drumstick at a cheap barbeque.
I thought Mcilroy was nailed on, but I guess Lewis Hamilton was fresh in the mind. Then again the bbc's sports personality of the year is no longer relevant IMO. Absolute snore fest.
What an utter prick Lewis Hamilton is. Cocky little chav with a chip on both shoulders. I turned off when I saw he had won.
It's also interesting to note that the fact BBC still has some of the GP viewing rights that adverts were running more frequently anytime Hamilton was on camera pre and post races.
I get somewhat irritated with the BBC now, with their dumbing down of sport related programmes. Question of Sport used to be a decent quiz show but now it's a farce with a presenter whose face is permanently stuck in a demented rictus and two buffoons as captains with a combined mental age of 3. SPOTY now has less sport content than Silence of the Lambs and seems to be nothing more than a telephone number brainwashing project. Lineker couldn't speak, Gabby Logan looked lost and even the usually superb Clair Balding floundered through the whole farrago. What the buggery bollocks did Simple Minds have to do with anything..? Why the hell are the BBC turning a sports awards programme into some sort of showcase for a faded, clapped out 80's rock band..? Whilst I was glad that Jo Pavey got something, Lewis Hamilton was always the stick-on winner. It was always going to happen, even though he's probably the only person in the entire country who could get us all preferring a German world champion to a Brit. SPOTY should get back to its proper format.... Get back to a smaller venue, ditch the bogus awards (Unsung hero...? Sheesh... it parading a middle aged woman in front of a studio audience of 12'000 and millions of TV viewers is "Unsung" then what do they call Sung..?), Totally throw out the crap bands Put more sporting highlights on instead, Put the phone numbers on a ticker at the bottom of the screen so they don't have to repeat them endlessly over and over By doing those few simple things they could cut the whole thing down to an hour and they might actually engage the viewers interest.
I must be the only one that enjoyed the show. I am happy that two time World Motor racing Champion Lewis Hamilton won. We should be proud that the Formula one Champion is a Brit. Also very happy for Jo Pavey to get an award. To still be running at forty and winning a major Championship is a remarkable achievement. When you have a large venue you have to give the audience a bit more than just handing out awards. This the BBC did. I would have liked a different group to Simple Minds, but you can't have everything.
I am totally disgusted at the abuse Simple Minds are getting. Admittedly, they went all a bit preachey and chin dribbly in 1987 and started singing about terrorists but up till then, they were a fantastic band. What else can Scotland put up? Most of their celebrities have facked off to the Cayman Islands and I don't think the proclaimers are out of prison yet. And SPOTY used to do a montage mishap piece, where posh people fell of horses or got run over by motorboats, that's always funny to watch. edit. I have since learned that the Proclaimers are not in prison.
I like Lewis Hamilton - admire the way he races and deserves credit for getting a younger generation in to the sport. I don't like the fact that the BBC pushed for him to win and personally think Mcilroy was a more deserving winner.
yep, i quite like lewis hamilton. easily a better driver than vettel. vettel's always had a decent car under him, hamilton is capable of picking up positions better than his car is capable of. i read somewhere that when mclaren were looking up whether to get button or magnussen back, they chose button because he was only 2 tenths of a second off hamilton in the same car. magnussen got less than half the points of button this year and he's supposed to be the next big thing. Hamilton is a great driver - you have to be a brave man to chuck a car around a track at over 100mph.
Put me right here as I genuinely do not know but motor racing is a bit playboy innit? . I understand that Lewis started in go karting and his dad had for jobs blah blah but he has been subsidised all the way and really was given grants and sponsorships that would not be available to the general populous. I mean along the way, he got the breaks that your average city kid would not have. The only kids that get to drive fast cars are the ones that steal them and I don't recall my sports teacher offering us Rugby, Cross County or Formula One for our winter sports option. Golf is pretty easy to get involved, running, football, even skiing but is LH really the best out there? or the best at getting the breaks? How can you be the best at something, if it is only reasonably achievable by about 000.1% of the population?
people spend their money on what they believe is best value. buying a football has much more longevity than buying one session go karting. but, if you kid did "wow" you in that one session of go karting, wouldnt you pursue it for them and put yourself out? he's turned in to a great driver, the best in the world this year. go karting is achievable, even i'm going on wednesday. my dream of being f1 champ is still alive - button got a contract at 34 so it could still happen to me lol. disagree about the 000.1%... every kid in the lakeside area has about 50 tracks within sneezing distance.
