Adel Taarabt no closer to QPR return as Moroccan trains away from first-team squad

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/adel-taarabt-no-closer-qpr-4808276

Adel Taarabt is training on his own at QPR – and boss Harry Redknapp admits he has no idea when the Moroccan will return to action, writes Dean Jones in the Sunday People.

Taarabt was supposed to be one of Rangers’ key players this season but has not played since a 2-0 defeat to West Ham more than two months ago.

Redknapp became embroiled in a media row with Taarabt, claiming he was “about three stone overweight”.

Taarabt hit back by posing for pictures and showing off his abs – but his fitness remains an issue as the playmaker has been struggling with a groin problem and is no closer to a first-team return.

Taarabt is training with a fitness coach, separate from the rest of the side, and Redknapp said: “It’s up to Adel when he will get back in the team.

“Only he can get himself fit and ready to play. You can take a horse to water, but how far’s the water?

“I’d be only too pleased to have him involved again. I don’t hold grudges against him.”

Neil built a team around him in the championship and asked for his senior pros to bite the lip and give him a free reign. At this level I think the players demand more of each other and themselves. What HR did in regards to the 3 stone overweight was wrong but if he , the club the players have tried to get him on board and he still doesn't sign up to the program then maybe there comes a point when asked a question about him HR is entitled to say what he did. I remember watching a pre season training video when Clint asked him if he was staying and I git the impression Clint was taking the piss out of him. I just sense the team as a whole have had enough.
Despite what's said on here we do not know the full facts and are only getting a snapshot of the situation. Yes he is talented but I'm tired of the saga. If he cares about the fans as he says then prove it. Get fit force your way in the team and play well. I would love it if he did but I fear that ship has sailed and he only has himself to blame

“I’d be only too pleased to have him involved again. I don’t hold grudges against him.”

Play him then tosspot instead he leads the public to believe Taarabt is the villain. Also stop taking about players at other clubs in this case it's Ross Barkley who is already a superstar in English football when the reality is he is a promising player who give away procession far too easily in my opinion and is often caught out of position. He isn't as strong as Taaarbt on the ball in fact he is way behind IMO. His skill level , i doubt will never be close to Taarabt's … His work rate is good but he is not in the same league IMO

He's English and young and will of course also get more votes against a Moroccan that's the real case here.

I fully believe in Taarabt as a football player because he is very special regardless if he ever plays for a very boring QPR side. Barkley of course will become a good player if he works at it but he is simply nothing special at all at the moment … its just the hype of a crazy English mentality that even pushes this very normal player into the public eye.

The mad formula...

Rooney came from Everton and therefore the public think the new star is born and have heaped pressure onto him … he has already gone backwards from people's expectations why?
Because his talent and promises are brainwashed into football fans heads … slap on the England call up and you have the problem … a normal but promising player how hasn't the natural skill to perform as the public want.

Agree 100%. It seems a strong possibility that cynically, Taarabt is feigning the extent of any injury in order to wait out the end of his contract. His indifference to playing for the club is clearly a poor influence on the rest of the squad, hence the arrangement that he trains away. Disappointed in the guy, but not altogether surprised.

Well I've tried it but don't need drugs to know football. Taarabt will play again somewhere and it will be at a higher level than RB

I suggest you wake up mate in fact post some RB highlights for all of us to watch I challenge you

Barkley, well he's at a selling club, big money move then disappear into obscurity as the new boss recognises that foreigners are better. Just like Jack Rodwell.

As usual on the money completely .. I hope he does come good for England but I have yet to see that he will be any where near what the English public think he will be… As you say there will be 50 better foreign players in front of him. The rest of the world knows how to develop players plus of course they haven't got the English mentality towards footballers

However limited Barkley may be, he's streets ahead of Tarratubby as an actual footballer as opposed to a clown with bags of potential but nothing between his ears. For one thing, Barkley is actually playing in the Premier League every week while Tarrafat is sulking in the corner of a far flung field out near Heathrow.

Andy Townsend. Now there's a proper footballer. About half the talent of Taarabt but has a brain and heart. He put Taarabt's embarrassing two year PL spell with us to shame with the way he played for the three or four months he was with us.

Fat Boy out. Andy boy in.

You make a good point DT that if Taarabt is to live up to his potential it will be a 'bigger' club where he feels he deserves to be and where he would be self-motivated.

It's no wonder that poor old Adel is always injured if Harry keeps slamming him.

Actually, that kind of sounds very wrong..

Remember how we used to sing "Taarabt's too good for you" to the opposition; it looks like some believe he's now "too good for us"

Get rid in the January window IMO, although I recognise his talent; but due to poor management and poor player attitude, he will never play for us again as a regular first-teamer. Let's back those that want to play for the team and forget those who do not understand the concept of the team.

The problem unfortunately is that he thinks that he is too good for us. He can't motivate himself to get in the right frame of mind or train for little old QPR. He wants out and is on strike forcing us to get rid.

Will he f**

He's a fat lazy t**t, who hates training. He'll never make it at the highest level of the game as long as he's got a hole in his sizeable arse.

Barkley will eclipse what little this clown has 'achieved' before he's 23

Of course there is another theory and lets be fair we only have theories

Harold has chucked him out of the team because Taarabt fought back and stood up for himself by claiming Harold wasn't taking training and rarely put himself out to get involved in the team training. Of course this row has gone on far too long and yes it's hard to see any way back for Taarabt at QPR BUT …

How this has been spun puts Taarabt out to be the bad egg in all of this … I ask is he?

I have been accused on here of being blinkered in my opinion of the player but it is based entirely on his ability as a footballer and what he does and can do on the pitch
I believe he is a handful because he has natural talent that most teams cannot handle
I will always counter comments saying he didn't do anything in the premiership because that is how some fans now regard him … in truth he was outstanding at times and won us games with moments of genius … how others remember him is up to them but to blame one player for being inconsistent is currently the average QPR fan's way … I warned of this when i joined the forum and today on here the evidence is everywhere. To not play a talent like Taarabt is madness and poor management IMO … I currently believe he is either banned by the club or has fallen out with the club … Harold has IMO come on side at long last with us as a club I believe he has been slapped by TF etc.

If I was Taarabt I wouldn't currently what to play for Harold because he has an opportunity to smooth this all over and I believe he is not capable as a man to do so
Taarabt's career is being ruined by Harold IMO on purpose. I base my opinion on the fact that Taarabt was QPR before Harold and he has only just fully into the job

I believe Harold stayed with us in the championship for money reasons and Stephen got us playing. Taarabt didn't want to play in the championship like other players who don't want that.

If i was Taarabt I would be counting the days to get out also

But this is QPR maybe he will start tonight how knows? but I bet you anything that there aren't many who really think we will win against Everton .. why is that? why do we think that now?

because somehow we simply haven't got the players that can damage them ? Kranky can ? Fer looking better? Vargas maybe? . I just believe a player like Taarabt instantly puts fear into any team and that's the difference IMO

Rooney's scored 164 times in 319 games in a decade for United and 46 times in 101 games for England, gone backwards?

But I suppose he can't hold a candle to the lazy trickster Taarabt though eh?

Maybe but he has also been given a very rare talent that I doubt you even understand or know anything about. I don't need to waste my time trying to convince people like you because you are one of the lost people. I very much doubt if you have even seen Taarabt play. I prefer to tend to side with the players who claim he is one of the best players in Europe.
I am very confident that he will bounce back with another club … remember the reports from Milan were that he was outstanding in all areas and IMO he was. really looking forward to seeing people like you with egg on their faces
