So many great sportsmen and women, so difficult to decide.

Similarly, we have our own sports personalities who divide opinions....

Congrats to Lewis Hamilton. Being I still like F1 I'm happy with that one!

Excellent that the England Women's RFU team got 'Team of the Year'.

I notice they dragged Kenny Dalglish up on the stage for the final presentation, but didn't let him speak (or whatever that noise that comes out of his mouth is). Wise move. Pity they didn't do the same with Gary Linekar, clearly ill, in a suit that was too small for him, and a twat. They only had 2 more far more competent broadcasters on the stage after all.

I like celebrating achievement, but this event is unbearably cheesy. Better than the X Factor though, which I saw 2 minutes of by mistake. Vile.

Well done Lewis. Why don't you come back and live (and pay tax) in the country that has made your success possible?

Amazing that Sports Personality of the Year is often won by people severely lacking personality, I think Lewis's dog had more pzazz...

Always thought the title of the award was a bit misleading. I used to think it was for the best "personality" as in the likeability of the Geezer regardless of his sporting prowess.

I know, I should stick to the footie :(

    One word to say.....Jo Pavey...
    Sorry that is two......

Now she really did achieve against all odds..would have preferred McIlroy, if you had to have someone who wasn't a 40 year old mother

I lost interest in the whole event when Ryan Giggs randomly won one year.

Thoroughly deserved winner IMHO. Would have been happy with either Lewis or Rory though.

If that's the case, we have a well known personality in our team who happens to be as inviting as a fart in an elevator.
Does that mean we should have nominated him?
Surely then he would have won hands down but would of further injured himself trying to hold up the trophy.

I am glad Lewis won because he grew up just around the corner from me.
He did only have Rosberg to beat at the end of the day though.

It's hardly about personalities, were that the case, Ollie would surely be up for a shout at the award each year. The only part that has any real meaning is the unsung hero bit, which a mate of mine actually won a few years back.

    I'd suggest a new title

Most publicly popular, at least fairly successful in a well covered sport person of the year.
