A loss, and a couple of dull performances have coincided with Fabregas having a slight dip in form and missing a game. No problem there, that's always going to happen. But immediately our attack starts to stutter and the front men struggle to break down stubborn defenders who are only there to stop us. At least that's how I see the last few games. Earlier posts from others have suggested a back up for Fab is essential, and I think it's even more than that, it's crucial. Love to know what others think.
I doubt we will sign anyone with the necessary talent who will be prepared to play a bit part so development within is the likely option. We have possibilities so to see a partnership of Mikel/Matic vs Hull at home was a surprise to say the least. Personally, I have called for Oscar to be given a try but that comes with a risk - Jose doesn't seem to take too many of these hence we very rarely see the kids. The one thing we must remember is that with or without Fabregas (presence or form) we could have and should have beaten both Sunderland and Newcastle comfortably and JM knows he put out teams he felt could do a job. It isn't going to go our way 100% of the time but I trust Mourinho implicitly to deliver despite the odd hiccup. It's along journey but I would have been thrilled to be in our current position at the beginning of the season. Yep, we could be out of sight by now but that's what makes it such a fantastic sport. Carefree!
I saw Nathan Abe play defensive midfield in a cup game early season at the bridge and he was absolutely outstanding and got MOM. Rambo doesn't have the passing ability or vision of Fabregas and I couldn't see him ever control and direct a game, which is what Fab does, and only Fab can do from where I sit. Oscar does have all the skill and flair and maybe he should get a go there, Rambo plays very well when used as an attacker. Any word on Rip van Winkle?? He was bought as a controlling mid, injury aside has he looked good on loan? Call me crazy but why couldn't Philipe Luis have a run in the Matic role? He seems to have whats needed, and is good going forward which Obi isn't.
Yep. Matic is key. City have 3 quality CMs in the ferds and Toure. We have one quality one in Matic, one OK one in Mikel, and two converted ones Fab and Rambo
I think ramieres could drop in along side matic, who's distribution and running is pretty incisive. for me if we are having this conversation I think the youngsters have to be considered. It'd be a damn shame if we sign another midfielder, we have chalobah, van ginkel, loftus-cheek, brown etc... I think this season we'll be "ok" with what we have atm, but agree either we promote someone to be backup for cesc or we sign someone. The issue is who can we get for cheap, and who is of required quality (while still being happy with a bench warming role)?
**** sake CP, his name is Ake, Nathan Ake. Thats the second time i have had to tell you that and im a Manc Great prospect, think he would get lots of game time in most teams
of all our youngsters ake is deffo the most developed. hes pretty much ready at this point. shame matic has his spot locked DOWN lol
Oscar covers Fab and Ake covers Matic, simples. Oscar - Matic Schurrle/Willian - Willian/Hazard - Hazard/Schurrle or Fabregas - Ake Willian - Oscar - Hazard It was a shame that when Matic was suspended Ake was injured. Would like to see Ake and Ramires paired against Derby, maybe have Loftus Cheek come on for Fabregas too.
won't call you crazy. In other thread I suggested Happy for DM role. TBH - Luis will be very good as well. Anyone but Mikel. That is my point
Abes' cousin Nathan Ake is also a good player agreed, being dyslexic, I ofnet teg thme mixed pu without my glssaes !!
Consternoon afterble what thinks you make iv'e been drinking. and your Luis for DM seems like a good idea to me.
