It looks a lot less sanitized than the McLaren factory. Those stacks of paper would never fly at Ron's place.

I saw a video with Ron once where he was giving a tour of the McLaren factory and he spend a good minute moaning about a replacement tile in the reception that was a slightly different shade than the others. I think he's got bigger problems to worry about.

Well it's more like half a minute... but come on Ron, you've got more pressing matters at hand.

Oh.. and here's an idea.... put the new ones UNDER the cars or your sticky door mats if you're so worried about it.

Horner seems to spend several minutes at the beginning of the video trying to pretend they have a clear-desk policy like Ron does, but basically mocking him.

One of the few times i'm with Horner. Ron reckons that his sanitized factory clears and focuses the mind, I reckon it saps his employees of any creativity and removes any kind of stimulation.

An interesting comparison, Bhaji. One might re-package your statement thus: exposure to too much sanitisation becomes something of a straight-jacket.

I've known of Ron and his nuances (on and off) for a very long time now; and whilst most people moderate themselves with age, obsessive types only seem to become more so. I believe only those similar to RD himself, or the minority amongst us with some degree of autism, are likely to see such statements as complimentary.

I also agree with you, Bhaji, that taken too far, sanitisation flies in the face of creativity. By example, I will cite the case of an old school-friend so obsessed with extreme 'cleanliness' that for him and his future wife, the most creative act of all could never be spontaneous! (Yep. No joke).

Does anybody know when the Sky Sports Ayrton Senna obsession will finish? Even the man himself would probably call it a day by now. Why don't they show some pre-race features.

You'd think a smart man renowned for attention to detail and meticulous preparation like Ron would have ordered extra tiles at the time "just in case" one ever cracked etc.

Lack of forward planning there Ron...

He might have a point though, has the team even won a race since that tile was replaced?

    McLarens problem located at last!

It's interesting that he's had that injury since a crash mid-way through 1999. Do you think that's why he dropped off? (Well, that and he made the mistake of sticking with Jordan...)
