I'll be taking a chance on Bothy in the Cheltenham 1.40 based on a number of factors. Firstly, his best form has been round this track - 2nd to Menorah in the Greatwood off 127, 2nd to Carlito Brigante in the Coral Cup off 138 and 4th to Olofi in the Racing Post Hurdle off 140. Secondly, his official mark here is 125 and the excellent Sean Bowen takes off a further 7. Thirdly, I think he is a better horse on a sounder surface, which he has here. Fourthly, this is his first drop to class 3 in 2 years, this time 2 years ago he was running in the Fighting Fifth (admittedly well beaten). I think Brian Ellison has found a nice opportunity for Bothy to get a well-deserved victory. The Sporting Life tissue has him around the 12/1 mark (no prices available yet) and with 8 going to post that looks a tasty e/w price in what looks a winnable race.

I like the look of INVICTA LAKE in the 3:00 Cheltenham tomorrow. Back on a sounder surface than last time this consistent sort might well continue his progression. Friendless in the market though which is a worry.

I quite fancy the outsider in the opener at Cheltenham. Disappointing there is only 4 runners but given Vivaldi Collognes a chance at the prices. Reached a decent height over hurdles and looks 1 to improve for fences. Gets a decent amount of weight from Kings Palace who i think could be vulnerable.

Fully expect 1 of my favourite horse Melodic Rendezvous to hose up on his chase debut he is up against inferior opposition although im sure his Cheltenham targets will be based on ground conditions in March.

Red Devil Boys to make a winning return at Doncaster.

Tracker horse for me today is Henri Parry Morgan 2.20 Doncaster. Been backed in from 12/1 to 8s currently

He's in the UK with his wife Cyc - mother-in-law passed away. Not sure how long he'll be gone. He was also very unhappy about the site and the proposed move to the new server so I am not sure whether he has gone for good.

The perils of jump racing there at Donny - lovely exacta if anyone had it

I can't believe Kings Palace was allowed to go off at even money. I don't like him but almost out him up last night at odds on which tells you all you need to know about his chance in that race. Even money was a big mistake by the bookies. Unbelievable.

I think he'll follow the same path as last year, i.e. mop up all the early races. Look very good against the b teams and then fail against the stars in March.

That Kings Palace looks a machine, his speed at the end of nearly 3m2 there was absurd and he devoured the last.

Think Mala Beach should stick to the 4m! They wont get near that thing in the RSA.

They made some good points on ATR just now Bob, about how he had to go off at a ridiculous pace to try and lead all the way in the Albert Bartlett. Not sure they need to try and make all in an RSA, just get him in a nice rhythm and let his fluent jumping take him through the race.

Exactly, much harder to win the hurdle race with his style, he just has to sit handy in the RSA.
