Interested for 10m apparently. Scored against Dortmund in the Champions League this week and against Arsenal in the last round of fixtures. Apparently Nige and some Leicester scouts went to watch him. Best kid in the Belgium league since Lukaku. This lad has some serious potential.
He'd also be good on the commercial side ... he's absolutely briliant in those 'Compare The Meerkat' ads ...
What we need is some solid defenders as although we aren't scoring many recently we have been taking the lead just to conceded. It was better when we were conceding first and then throwing caution to the wind as we had nothing to lose. I hope that the board don't get itchy feet and replace Pearson as I think that we will just end up with a washed out journey man looking for a pay day. Yes we could go down under Pearson but who better that to get us to regroup and bring us back up. For long term success we need to trust somebody long term and Pearson hasn't been the worst manager by a long way since MoN. Let's not forget the way MoN reminded us that we weren't always keen on him staying when he left for Celtic.
It's easy to say keep Pearson when it's not your cash involved. If it was your family's fortune that was funding Pearson's stewardship of Leicester City and things looked as bleak as they are now, what would your view be at the moment? Be honest. Would you sit back and let him risk taking the club down and losing all the funding that goes with being in The Prem, with no guarantee that he'll be able to get back at the first attempt, or ever? I really hope that things do turn around soon and yes, I'd like to see someone who can keep the club up in the top tier and take us forward over the next 5 years. Pearson appears to have a good rapport and relationship with the players, but I'm afraid that, for all his good personal qualities, on the evidence so far (bottom of the table and no sign of a turnaround) his footballing abilities are just not up to it at this level, so I'm not convinced at the moment he is a long term answer, but I'd love to be proven wrong.
The reality is this ... if we continue to lose Nigel Pearson will be sacked - don't think this will happen after a loss to Man City but if we have not picked up any points going into the New Year then his position will be precarious ...
