Happened upon this site whilst pottering around (as you do) http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/norwich-city/kader/verein_1123.html Some interesting stuff on there, including this page of valuations for NCFC players. Anyone agree with them, or are they way out?
£88,000 for Rudd?! £44,000 for Steer?! These are England yoth keepers! R.Martin is worth more than £198,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I personally think at lest £2m Elliott Bennett £154,000? We got him for nearly £2m! Crofts is worth more than £308,000 Stephen Hughes is not worth £990,000 Hoolahan is worth way more than 1,188,000m!!! Try £5-6m! Especially if Leeds want £8m for Snoddy! We got Vaughan for £2.5m but they have him worth £1,320,00. Not sure about tis one as I dn't know much about him. But Lambert won't have paid that much over the odds would he? We paid £3m for Morrison but they have him worth £660,000... bit harsh Sim Jackson £352,000? Joke This site is clearly made up by someone who knows nowt about football! lol
Wouldn't have thought that Barnett would be our most expensive player, especially as he missed a large chunk of this season. And as bedfordcanary said, surely if we've recently bought a player for a certain price, then they must now be worth that as it has been shown that someone is willing to pay that much for that player. A valuation and the price that a player is sold for can be wildly differing as they rely on many variables: budgets, injuries, urgency for a particular position and even language etc. This means that valuations are pretty much useless, at their simplest, just (barely) educated guesswork.
This site reveals that Wes Hoolahan can only play Left Midfield, Zak Whitbread can only play Left Back and Stephen Hughes is worth exactly five times as much as Russell Martin... mmm, I think they might need to do some more careful research!?
Looks to me that they had an old version of football Manager - 2008 / 2009 and took the valuations from there. Either that or they have just made up some numbers as they know very little about football. Either scenario entirely possible, and likely.
