Town made an overall loss of £7.2 Million for the last financial down on the previous year and this figure does not include the sale of Cresswell in the Summer. The wage bill has been cut and we fell well below the FFP limit of £8 Million losses.

It just feels like at long last our football club is being run properly both on and off the pitch! <ok>

This is encouraging news after the largesse of previous regimes, but surely expected after the recent cuts in transfer and wage budgets. I know I advocated a more ambitious transfer policy in the summer, in the sense of spending money for players, as I feared our side would regress, possibly like many others feared at the time. Fortunately we've managed to combine a good team atmosphere, some dramatically improved individual performances, and the habit of grinding out victories to charge up the table and, hopefully, go into 2015 in the top three or four places, far beyond my expectations.

My main concern is the over-reliance of Marcus Evans. Yes, we are not indebted to any third party companies or banks, which is a positive, but £86m owed to Marcus Evans is a disconcerting number. If we don't achieve promotion any time soon, this figure is either going to rise or stay the same. I guess that what's what you get spending over a decade at this level.

Well I don't know where this £6 mill wage bill Jewell is going on about - wage bill is still ridiculous to be frank, it will have been cut no ends since then too. £13.9 million on what ?!?!?!?! I have to think it's going to be lower when the next set of accounts come in. We COULD on them perhaps even show a slight profit ( Cressy sale not included on this one..... )

It is certainly progress but no doubt people will be clamouring for Evans to stick his hand in his pocket in January and forget he's propping up a 7m loss (each year)

Step in the right direction no doubt, but sport shouldn't be in a position where clubs are stretched beyond their means for any length of time anyway and a £7m loss is still quite a lot considering the (very necessary) tightening of the belt that has taken place in recent months.

One thing we can all agree on though is that the long term strategic plan the club has set out is certainly making the future health and sustainability of the club a lot more positive than it has been for many years <ok>

That's good news for us. There are several clubs facing transfer embargoes and other sanctions though, including Leeds and Birmingham. January could see a few clubs unable to do business and that could have an affect on what happens in the second part of the season.

When do clubs have to publish their accounts?

As you mentioned SD there are a few that will be interesting... 1) what their accounts actually look like, and 2) what the Football League will actually do once the accounts are made public

Personally, I don't have a lot of confidence in the football authorities actually following through with these sanctions in full force. Recent history has showed us that the big clubs, like Barcelona, Chelsea, and PSG were mostly just given a fine and a slapped wrist, nothing like the transfer sanctions that were originally threatened. However, we're in a division where clubs can be made an example out of and it'll be interesting to see if anything actually happens to those clubs that have failed FFP.

its a step in the right direction but it seems a very large amount and only just within the guidelines considering that we appear to have been scrimping all over the place for the past year.

Be very interesting to see what happens in January. If Forest + Bournemouth, two of our direct rivals cannot bring new faces in that could really hinder either of their progress. Also, Forest may aswell stick with Pearce if that's the case. Could be a nightmare situation there!
