The race was a race the bookies hate - 4/7, 2/1, 14/1 and then 40/1 and upwards the rest. In fact it was possibly the most perfect scenario for ew players
Disagree. Perfect bookmaker race. Only one can win, and will take next to no money EW as only 7 left in.
Betfair pay 3 Places if more than 7 horses are declared, Squire currently trading @ 4/5 in the Place only Market. Good Luck One & All
I said it was a race they hate Nass ie when there were 8 runners it was a race they hate and therefore I am pretty sure someone will have paid a sum for that one to be taken out
That's the example Nass as when there were 8 runners Squire was playing 14/5 for a place with the bookies. Resulting in you getting 0.9/1 for the place (taking away your stake) with a free bet on it winning
Afternoon chaps. Off to Kempton this afternoon obviously to watch SQUIRE who both The Don and I have a share in. I can tell you that he has come on bundles since his seasonal debut at Lingfield three weeks ago. Todays race is most certainly short of his ideal trip but we wanted to gat another race in him before Christmas and we didn't want to be going to Wolves or Southwell. He did probably his best piece of work yet at the weekend and we really do think he is quite smart. We wont be trying anything fancy. He will sit in early doors and we will ask him what he has got up the straight. He may well get done for toe but we do feel he has a bit of class and could easily be good enough to trouble the front two in the betting. He isn't running to get a soft mark, no point in doing that as the handicapper marked his card at Lingfield. We think enough of him not to worry about whatever mark he gets. He came from Godolphin and hopefully this evening they will see his arse!
BANG BANG boys. Happy with that. Seems like I was the only one who fancied it judging by the betting.
After watching its last race I'll be honest I thought there looked to be a bit of a fiddle going on, he looked to be cruising and wasn't asked to go on at all by the jockey and seemed to me he could have gone very close that day if he'd been given an honest ride. But regardless of that I've still had a go today and all the best hope he wins comes back safely and you have a good evening
