Paulo Sousa's Basel lead Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield in the Champion's League. Wonder what might have been if he'd stayed?...
I seen him there in the dugout during the first half and didn't recognise him at all. Liverpool are shocking. They're even worse than us. Meanwhile, ex-Ranger Mauro Milanese is sacked from the Orient after only a few weeks in charge
As they did against us. They are coming close to pulling another goal back though with injury time looming - 4 mins
Ridiculous red card imo. Terrible selections from Rogers. Play Gerrard deeper where he's been all season and play Courtinio behind the striker. Lucas was poor and Allen is just about the worst player I've ever seen in my life! Sterling came alive last 15 minutes and fantastic free kick from Gerrard. All to no avail though.
I don't think that facial contact was even made, yet the pussy went down like he had been slapped really hard - more pathetic play acting. Liverpool without Suarez & Sturridge are really on the skids this season, and as Gerrard correctly & honesty stated in his post match interview, they didn't deserve to qualify based on their play in Champions League.
Always liked Paulo Sousa he has the right idea about football IMO Good luck to him as he has that Basle side ticking … They were leagues ahead of Liverpool in every department and stopped Liverpool playing at home Make no mistake it's wasn't Liverpool playing poorly .. They were contained. Brilliant pressing from Basle and superb passing They deserve to go through
Yes indeed.
Yes, good luck to him - we played some nice football under him in that crazy T&C spell. Well after all, what could other options did the club have, in true Doug and Dinsdale Piranha fashion, poor Paulo had "transgressed the unwritten law". Stig: Well he had to, didn't he? I mean there was nothing else he could do, be fair. I had transgressed the unwritten law. Rogers: What had you done? Stig: Er... well he didn't tell me that, but he gave me his word that it was the case, and that's good enough for me with old Dinsy. Sousa backs himself in QPR row after Four Year Plan screening Paulo Sousa has broken his silence on the controversial QPR documentary, claiming it was âimpossibleâ for him to have been successful under Flavio Briatore. The two-time European Cup winner has defended his reputation following the fly-on-the-wall film that charted his five-month stay at Loftus Road. Sousa was undermined repeatedly by both co-owner Briatore and the clubâs sporting director Gianni Palladini as he attempted to steer the west London club away from the lower reaches of the Championship. please log in to view this image Short stint: Paulo Sousa was manager of QPR for just five unsettled months please log in to view this image Powers the be: Flavio Briatore (top right) was shown to meddle in team matters in the documentary Four Year Plan In one excerpt Palladini is shown telephoning Briatore to moan about Sousaâs tactics. He then stands outside the dressing-room at half-time, demanding that the manager fields two strikers instead of one. Matters came to a head when Sousa was sacked for 'divulging highly sensitive information' regarding Dexter Blackstock's transfer to Nottingham Forest - an accusation later rejected by the clubâs boss. Palladini was also later seen referring to Sousa as 'that idiot' before the axe fell. The former Juventus midfielder, currently managing Videoton in Hungary, said: 'I think people could see for themselves what was going-on. It was as it appeared to be. And that made it impossible for any manager or coach to be successful. 'As a manager, Iâve always said that Iâm flexible. That I can adapt to the needs of the players, the staff and the club where I am working. But interference from the boardroom in team matters - both in the dressing-room and at the training ground - meant no-one stood a chance. 'In my time as a player and manager Iâve never known anything like it. Not before nor since.' http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-Four-Year-Plan-shows-job-QPR-impossible.html
