Termmell game time is nor necessarily a good thing.

And why would it be beneficial for fabianski to have a rest exactly? He's a goalkeeper. He probably burns off less calories than the ball boys.

I've always said he was a decent/good defender but was more than happy to see him leave because of his antics.
    Better? :D

I guess that's where the FA get to repay Monk after speaking out...wouldn't surprise me if we get any future appeals rejected :(

A strange one this - "Fabianski was dismissed for denying a goal scoring opportunity.''
Did he impede Sakho, that's what he's there for,did Sakho fall to the ground due to any collision,no,because he went on to shoot at goal and hit the post,so how was Sakho denied a goal scoring opportunity?
If Sakho had scored it would had to have been disallowed as the ref had already blown up to stop play.
The fact is that the ref was too quick to blow his whistle. He also missed the hand ball, which was why we appealed the red card in the first place, this was not even mentioned by the FA in their decision.

The way I look at it is that if Fabianski had wanted to stop Sakho, he could have slid in and taken him out. He didn't, and in fact he even tried his best to pull out of the challenge once the handball occurred - which took the ball away from where Fabianski was running to. If a defender had made that challenge on the pitch, it would not have been given as a foul as the player was still on his feet and travelling forward (not even towards goal in this case), so I'm not sure why the advantage rule is different when a goalkeeper is the one defending.

If Sakho hadn't have handballed it into a different direction, Fabianski would most likely have taken man and ball and we'd be praising him for great timing. This is why I'm surprised it hasn't been rescinded, because without the handball, it's extremely questionable whether there would even have been a foul.
