Just saw on SSN that Rob has made more saves than any other Premier league keeper so far this season, 56 I believe, 8 saves ahead of his nearest rival. He has been outstanding in the last two games and deserves a bit of credit considering the stick he usually gets. You listening Flyer?
Agree that Green has been outstanding in several games this season and particularly in the last three. Just hope that he can continue with such displays. Does the accolade also confer that we have the worst defence in the Premier League, judging by the total no. of goals conceded we do!
Great that the club stood by him and allowed him the chance to prove himself. As I said at the time he is a confidence player - and Harry has shown faith in him which he has repaid handsomely. If I recall, Flyer's worry was that we didn't have 2 keepers competing for the no1 jersey - so I'm sure he's pleased in the acquisition of McCarthy, who is perhaps keeping RG on his toes. Whatever the reasons, it's evidently working!
You can sense that the back 4 are confident with him as he is now commanding his area far more than even last season.....takes some of the pressure off, mind it helps when you have an in form Chuck playing in front of you.....
Absolutely You can't mate. Some keepers you feel very comfortable with. Green always makes me nervous
I'm a big critic of Greeno at times, I still get edgy when I se him coming for crosses and I still don't think he commands his 6 yard box very well. But his performances since the Chelsea game have been outstanding. The GK department looks very strong for s at the moment, im a big fan of McCarthy and I think it'll be Greeno's last year as No.1. So hopefully he goes out having a blinder and plays a big part in keeping us in the prem.
Completely agree with this. I've been harsh on him due to aforementioned fear of clangers (not the purple woolen aliens) but he has been brilliant recently. I've been calling for McCarthy for most of the season but, huge credit to Green, I have wanted RG between the sticks for the past few games due to his performances.
Rob Green - Take a Bow Son! With Col on this as he could take a bow at any time during a match and let the ball in … He is however playing the best i have ever seen him play so carry on butter fingers
He has been top class and deserves all the praise he is getting, though he is still doing way too much for my liking, especailly when you consider we are playing two DM's (well one and one Inbetweeny).
