Has anyone got the full story to this?? Sounds like a good Christmas bash, but apparently Caulker did end up in hospital?! View attachment 34360
The club weren't, but this sounds like the players having one in the pub on sunday. I did see pics of Barton, Rio, Charlie and Vargas in the pub the other day, sounds like something happened. According to David McIntyre, who wasn't there, but has "heard" that Caulker went over and cut his head open, but doesn't allude to how it actually happened. But it could be an absolute nothing story that the Sun have picked up on and tried to make it something.
TF just tweeted to minimise the story https://twitter.com/tonyfernandes/status/542101996438712320 View attachment 34361
https://twitter.com/rioferdy5 I can't seem to up load the picture but if you look down his twitter page, there is a picture of Rio and Charlie in there Christmas jumpers. So much for a split drink on his suit
Hold on. The team manager makes a big thing about 'no parties' precisely because of headlines (doubtless hugely exaggerated) like this one. So then the players are 'given permission' to go out on masse (why do adults, even immature and spoilt ones, need 'permission' to go for a drink with their work mates?), the exact opposite of what their manager wants. So on one hand Redknapp has been proven right - let these people out drinking and crap happens. On the other his 'authority' (excuse me while I smirk) has been undermined and he's been made to look a bit of a tit ("Harry doesn't want us to party, but who cares what he says. Robbie Keane ignored him at Spurs and Harry wants him back, there will be no bad consequences of us ignoring him as usual"). I smell bulls**t.
Over hyped again by tabloids, just a bit of fun & no fights, caulker slipped & cut his head, but it's QPR & bound to make something up.
I actually quite like the idea that our lot had a punch-up with Palace players. A good bonding exercise and would add some spice to the game on the 28th. A radio report this morning, quoting the currant bun I think, said that Barton acted as 'peacemaker'.
Premier League club QPR deny defender Steven Caulker was rushed to hospital after altercation QPR have denied there was an altercation at a Sunday lunchtime gathering, but have admitted defender Steven Caulker required hospital treatment for a cut to his head. A newspaper report on Monday night suggested there was a fracas at the Ship Inn in South London, where players from QPR and Crystal Palace were in attendance. QPR spokesperson Ian Taylor responded on Twitter, writing: "Following Saturday's Premier League win versus Burnley & with no further fixture for nine days the club can confirm players were allowed to have a Sunday lunch together. "Steven Caulker was not involved in an altercation. He did suffer a cut to his head, which he received treatment for at hospital before being discharged on the same evening. The club will be making no further comment." A police spokesman confirmed: "A 22-year-old man is understood to have slipped when getting into or out of a vehicle. "The man banged his head and was taken by London Ambulance Service to a south London hospital. He is not believed to have been seriously injured." QPR's victory against fellow strugglers Burnley on Saturday lifted them out of the Premier League relegation zone for the first time since September. Last week, manager Harry Redknapp suggested there would be no end of year festivities for the players. âIâm not into Christmas parties, not for footballers," he said. "I think itâs more aggravation than itâs worth." http://www.itv.com/news/2014-12-09/premier-league-club-qpr-deny-defender-steven-caulker-was-rushed-to-hospital-after-altercation/
Arry said that there'd be a meal on Monday??? Did this go ahead or was Arry telling porkies or have the players seen more turkey than Bernard Matthews? (NB tongue firmly in cheek)

What utter codswallop. Looks like a good afternoon out to me. Absolutely no reason to believe The Sun's hyperbole about an "Xmas Brawl". Just the usual hysteria trying to sell papers, where the truth is an irrelevance.
