I have defended Fraser a few times on here but his keeping for the 2nd goal was abysmal. He's well over 6ft tall and yet cannot command his penalty area. Big ****ing problem. There needs to be some serious work on the training ground. I was more angry with the 2nd goal than I was first and not because it was Fonte who ****ed up for the first either. It's not rocket science Fraser. You come out and punch the ball clear, taking whoever is in the way in the process if you have to. I have serious concerns about Forster and am starting to wish Boruc was back here.
Not the right time for recriminations, but I have to agree Forster's decision making at times is pretty grim, he's a good shot stopper and his handling is good, when he leaves his line, but he doesn't seem to inspire much confidence in the back 4?
Kept you in the game against Arsenal the other night Coming for crosses has always been his weak area, I doubt its going to change now. With his size if he didnt have that defect he would be worth 40m
I said at the time I would rather we'd kept Boruc and spent the Forster money on other areas of the squad and I basically stand by that but Boruc won't be back and Forster's not completely hopeless. He did have a fantastic game against Arsenal the other day.
It's best not to react emotionally after a game (win or loss) but this is something I've been saying for a while. I'm not sure what Forster offers that any goalkeeper of a decent level could do. ...Saying that, he had a great game v Arsenal
Bring back Gareth Bale in for Mane too please. If we don't trigger his buy back clause then surely Koeman has got to go.
RonKo said that Boruc wasn't coming back and would be continuing his exile at Bournemouth in January, I suspect a major rift in the camp there. We will have to get a suitable replacement to keep Fraser on his toes, he hasn't a challenger at the moment and that isn't good.
BTW, wasn't entirely serious about the title, it was just catchy. I'm aware it's very unlikely we'll see Boruc back here but something does need to be done about Forster.
Boruc was naturally upset about being told he was demoted to second. No doubt words were said and Koeman saw him as more trouble than he was worth. Not takings sides here...I can see both sides. But the point is that Forster is our keeper and he is a good one as well....look at the Arsenal game. I bet there will be a game where he plays like that and saves our bacon...just like Davis against Leeds.
Sad thing here is Koeman instead of having two great keepers fighting for his number 1 spot decided to be a tad arrogant and now has a keeper with no competition not playing great except the arsenal game and hopefully that wasn't a one off game for clubs sake
agree in general. He remains weak in all the ways he was already known to be weak. Unless Watson is going to pull a rabbit out of his hat and fix Forster, that was a lot of money just to have a younger, fitter player on a four year contract.
