  1. Premier League

  2. Champions League

  3. FA Cup

  4. League Cup

  5. As much as Everton and Spurs!

United were a pile of ****e. The Saints should have won handsomely but for some poor finishing. United only had 2 shots on goal. Shows that you have to take your chances.

Terrible performance. Fellaini is just embarrassing. But we won. The injuries to our defenders is getting beyond ridiculous.

Right now we just need to win. As soon as a player returns 3 more are injured so while it keeps happening we just need to win any way we can.

Di maria was a massive miss. We had no pace at all and saints knew this. They attacked in huge numbers and while arsenal did the same, having di maria meant we could hit on the break. We couldn't today.

Had di maria played, we would have beem much better. As saints would have had to think carefully about going forward.

Also no fullbacks is killing us. Shaw and rafael are light years ahead of young and valencia.

I thought Young was our best player. Which sums it up really.

Their main luck is in the order of fixtures

They are still behind Moyes in results for the same fixtures, Moyes just had a hard start to the season whereas Van Gaal's is handpicked (no doubt by Scudamore who whined last season that Man Utd being low in the table negatively affected the PL's foreign TV rights)

I cannot believe that. they could even challenge for the title. Long shot but with that type of luck anything is possible.

good game that... good for the rest of us.

utd were all over the shop. southampton committed suicide at the back twice... second goal was ridiculous gap between keepr and defensive line!

southampton are looking one trick totally... its a good trick but once you negate it they are one dimensional.

right now its getting interesting and anyone could take top 4 on that display now.

Another game without the #crock Falcao playing

Though I guess Man Utd were concentrating on defending what they had?

Very special. Youre clinging on desperately. Like a winnet does to an arse pube.

We enjoy it though. Almost as funny as our performance.

The worry is that when their crocks come back they could win even more points.

Which only goes to show that if we had invested properly and not had our only striker out for most of the season a top 4 place was there for the taking. Depressing isn't it. United have been awful this year and had an horrendous injury list and there they sit in third. Come on guys get your finger out and start playing again!
And if we have money to spend in Jan buy some decent f***ing players who will have an immediate impact

    This

That is why I think Rodgers performance as a manager recruiting players and selecting teams has been shockingly bad. Criminal almost. Squandered money and a once in a generation opportunity to stay in the elite.

Did you notice the difference between LVG interview and Brendans? One thinks his team are magnificent and he can ask no more of them, the other is honest.

Disgaree with this. They had players out and had a poor night in terms of finishing. Every bit of their build up play showed drive, fluidity and strength. United were lucky tonight, but 99% of the time Saints won't miss their chances and their oppo won't get that lucky. If Saints had folded and been played off the park I could understand but they played well, just had a "bad day at the office". Saints may have lost today but they continue to impress. I really don't think it holds any hope for the likes of Liverpool, Spurs, Everton etc.

You keep saying weve been awful but weve been light years ahead of your lot this season.

Even today would compete with your better performances and it was woeful.

What really annoys me about Rodgers is that his players always have given their all and couldn't have done any better . Even against Sunderland 0-0 at home. Van Gaal wins and still thinks the performance was not good enough and it was only luck. Rodgers should learn and stop irritating the fans...<ok>

Today our performance, our lack of coherent passing, our inability to have a game plan was purely as a result of LVG getting the starting 11 completely wrong. Once you do that, spend a week on tactics based on that, then even when you try to make the changes and bring on players you SHOULD have started with, you're already out of the game. THAT is what happened today. It won't happen again IF LVG doesn't do that again. He set us up to fail today and I don't fault the players (except Fellaini).

Didn`t need him mate, we have RVP. Would you expect an experienced manager like Van Gaal to push a player who is not match fit like Brendan does with Sturridge?
