I know he might not see this but I want to say a really big thank you to James Mooney. A little while back I got married and had my 8 year old son as my best man, I wanted to try and get him something special as a gift and as he is Hull city crazy the best thing I could think of was a city shirt with best man printed on the back and wondered if I could get it signed by some of the players. I tried getting in touch with the club directly and didn't have much luck so asked OLM if he had any ideas and he helped me so much and got in touch with James Mooney directly it was arranged that James would get my shirt signed by some of the squad so I could present it on my wedding day but unfortunately this didn't happen as something came up and James couldn't sort it in time, My son still got his shirt and was very happy with it so all was good. Come forward several weeks and out of the blue James got in touch and basically apologised for letting me down and said if I wanted I could take my son early to a pre-arranged match and meet up with him and he would arrange to have my son meet some of the players and he could get his shirt signed which we did on Saturday and my son was over the moon. So Thank you to James Mooney (and OLM) for making me and my sons day so special.
A day your lad will never ever forget. Maybe the club could do something along these lines more often (by the way I don't know if they do so already), the kids are the next lifelong fans.
Well played indeed OLM and massive kudos to James and the club for not forgetting and setting this up. Sommat your son will never forget too. Hopefully his enthusiasm will rub off on some of his mates too.
When I dropped him off he asked if he could take it to his mums to show her and also said he would like to take it to school, (Think they still do show and tell) If the kids go off his excitement it surely couldn't do any harm to future fans,
I remember taking penalties at Fer Ark when I was a Young Tiger in the early 90s and leaving the pitch to chants of "sign him up" from the South Stand after the ball hit the inside of one post, shot across the goaline, hit the other post and bounced out. Great memories for kids when you get to do that sort of thing. More please.
