I thought it was 2.5 M Euros. The bid for Delort was miles short of 3 M Euros, that is why the fee was not agreed with Tours.

The media all reported Vetokele as 3m Euros / 2.5m pounds, and by most accounts we agreed a fee with Tours, it was Delort who backed out when Wigan offered more wages, Duchalet put up more money for players this summer than we've had in the last five years put together, anyone who disses him for not spending wants their heads looked at, the rest of football know we've spent loads, lots of other clubs' message boards had us down as one of the clubs most likely to fail FFP because of all the money RD has spent, seems everyone (the media, the rest of football, etc) knows we've spent loads apart from our own moaning fans!!!!!

Igor is £500k every season for 5 years.

Delort fee was t agreed. We had permission to speak to him and agreed a deal, but RD wouldn't go higher than 2million euro's, to which their chairman got fed up and refused to negotiate with us further.

Never heard of there being a chance of us failing FFP. I don't imagine RD would be that sloppy in his approach, and certainly goes against his business model.

Transfer fee for Vetokele was paid up front, but you split it over length of contract when calculating FFP, so it counts a 500 or 600k a year over the five years, even using your figures 2.5m for Veto plus 2m rejected for Delort plus 500k accepted for O'Grady, that makes 5m Duchalet was prepared to spend on strikers over the summer, don't know how anyone can say he's a cheapskate, also I agree re FFP, especially as we were one of six clubs that voted against increasing it, I never thought we'd fail it, but fans of other clubs did, on one forum someone said "if Charlton have found a loophole to pass FFP then probably everyone, even Forest, will be able to pass it", we have a reputation for spending a lot of money under Duchalet, eg we spent 1m just on the bloody pitch over the summer, obviously the pitch spend is not counted towards FFP, but that's just another example of Roland flashing the cash, I can't understand why Charlton fans think he isn't spending when fans of every other club can see that he is, think some people are just a bit greedy really and only happy when they are moaning...

I think he has splashed some cash - there is no doubting it. The Igor money being upfront is dubious, as when in Denmark a couple of weeks ago I spoke with someone who reports on the Danish league and he said it was his understanding it was £500k ever year. But to be fair - unless either club confirm the details of the deal we won't know 100%.

With other teams fans - were they saying we get around FFP due to the Network, and the ability to loan from Liege at no cost? Similar to how many perceive Watford from the outside.

Interestingly though - I do remember BP doing an interview when they were discussing our summer activity, and he himself pointed out that Charlton actually only spent money on one player, with the rest being freebies and loans. No doubt that the calibre of players we got on frees (Hendo, JBG etc) will bring an increase in our annual wages, but as you say, there appears to be more to spend. It would be a shame if we wait till the summer to see it.
