No this isn't just to upset Col, .....................(well perhaps it is a bit) I thought it strange that Matty was brought on as the 3rd sub yesterday, rather than Hoillet (a far better outreach player in the circumstances of yesterdays match) And on the way home it dawned on me....Austin cannot play vs Everton...Zamora is unlikely to lead the line for the whole 90 minutes, especially with his bad back. Arry was just giving him a taster yesterday!!! So anyone want have a bet with me....vs Everton we will have one forward (Vargas playing behind)....and it will be Cols "favouritious player" in the whole world...Matty Phillips. And I bet he scores too....just to upset Col!
It's the perfect opportunity for Phillips or Hoilett to step up and take their chance, but it's frustrating that we do seem to have found a formula that is grinding out results without them in the team, makes it less likely that either one will get a proper run of games to build their confidence. We could possibly grind out a result at Everton, they're not exactly firing at the moment. I just think it's time to throw caution to the wind away from home and just try and blitz a team, we're already the leagues proverbial joke when it comes to our away form, so not much to lose. I think we'd all prefer to get a tonking having gone for it, rather than the awful sitting back soaking up the pressure hoping Green will keep out every shot I just hope January goes quickly cause we're going to be stupidly busy in the market trying to persuade average strikers to join on more money than is sensible, oh the joys of the January window.
OK wifey...I'll take this bet...20 quid/30 Aus monkey dollars to a charity. Im saying Matty wont be our striker....but I'll put an extra tenner in if he scores... My charity..Tommies for prem babies ( a subject close to my heart). yours is open to you You have until midday Mon to accept or decline.....XXX
I will match you Queens £20 to Tommies from me.... if Matty doesn't start on Monday week against Everton. BUT>>>> I will put in £10 again to Tommies if he does score too. (cause the truth is...I do think he will start, but I do not think we have the inventiveness to score away from home)
I for one would love to see Vargas up front. When he came on against Liverpool he was amazing. Very surprised when Bobby is not playing he is not partnered with Charlie
I'd go with this: ----------------green--------------- Isla------caulker-------dunne---yun ----------Barton-----Henry--------- Hoilett--------Kranjcar-----------fer -------------------vargas-----------
----------------green--------------- Isla------caulker-------dunne---yun ----------Barton-----Henry--------- Vargas-------Kranjcar-----------fer -------------------Phillips----------- For me
-------------green--------------- Isla------caulker-------dunne-----traore ----------Barton-----Henry--------- Vargas-------Kranjcar-----------fer -------------------Zamora----------- For me
His ability to controll a difficult ball, hold it and lay it off to his own players, make him the best lone "false 9" that we have (except Adel but he's injured Harry says). If Vargas, Fer, Niko and others do the running to give OBZ support he'll be our best hope up there if his fitness is back where it has been this season, IMO!
Doesn't matter, Redknapp has his excuse for another typical away performance. "Without Charlie it's difficult. Also it's not easy"
You have it the wrong way round. Its Taarabt who's claiming he's injured but Harry who clearly doesn't quite believe him (nor does anyone with a bit of sense)
Arry should play Taarabt at Everton and take him off at HT, just to see how long it takes him to get home.
