Ackers -

    1. Bob Peeters used to be a striker?

    2. The finishing is bad because, Igor apart, our strikers are sh1t.

Good strikers cost money, which is anathema to Roland. What he must have realised by now is that if you've got a load of duds to pay it costs more than one good one.

This sums up what I have been trying to say in my more long-winded way for months.

I think we will be better off bringing a striker coach in, but there's no point in doing so with just igor at our disposal (I don't acknoweledge the rest).

I never agreed with a striker coach, a defensive coach or even a goalkeeper coach. Its just another job for the boys. If your a striker and you cant score goals your not a striker, your shat. Fine tuning is one thing, reinventing yourself is another.

A team coach should not be undermined by specialised coaches. You can't improve your game with conflicting theories and opinions, you have to take it on board yourself.

I watched Tucadean in the 10-15 min he played on Saturday - coaching aside, it is very hard to see what type of striker he actually is. He is not skilful enough to drop deep and play behind the main striker, he is not big/strong enough to play the role of a hold up striker, he is not quick enough to get behind defences and create space for others...and he is not a poacher/fox in the box type, either. You could have Gary Lineker, Gerd Muller & Roy of the Rovers all giving him one-to-one coaching, but there is still a basic lack of talent there that makes "striker coaching" irrelevant.

Ditto Bulot. Hilarious that Peeters brought him on for a full one minute. There must be literally thousands of players like Bulot doing the circuit of lower level European football.

A goalkeeping coach is worthwhile because he can impart a lot regarding angles, when to come or when to stay etc. A defensive coach can help with spotting dangers, when to tackle, when not to tackle, how to push the attacker wide or how to push him down the middle and into trouble.

A striker needs instincts and skills that just cannot be coached. You either have it or you don't. As typical says: ours are shat.

No, but you can sprinkle it with glitter!

If we brought in Super Clive, Andy Hunt or even Garry Nelson as coach, it would perhaps be too tempting to put them in the starting eleven.

Or Carl Leaburn, eh, Franco? :emoticon-0116-evilg

Love the player, but not as a coach. It's a shame as he has so much to offer, but I think he's just to immature to handle that much responsibility. Plus I don't imagine he'd accept a coaching role in a championship side.

I wonder if euell has any dealings with the first team?

“But again in training, the balls are flying in. It’s not training. It’s in the game you need to do it.”

Why do you say that, we spent 3 million Euros on Vetokele and had a 3 million bid accepted for Delort, 3 million equals our fourth or fifth biggest transfer fee in Charlton's entire history, one thing you can't use Duchalet of is not making money available for strikers, I'm sure we will use the Delort funds to buy one in January.
