26 shots to their 9, 8 corners to their 1.

One of those days for Chelsea.

It's not like we surrendered a three goal by half time v Stoke because we are a bunch of spineless mercenaries who don't play with passion for our club!

Love FFP. FFP + Jose = trophies

Twice in a week now he has said "only one team wants win, only one team plays to win" both times the oposition scored two goals against his team, notice the common denominater here.
Do you think he may be trying to tell his players something :bandit:

I think the common denominator is that well organised defences are stopping us winning at the moment. I guess that's inevitable and is how more teams will set up against us. We need to come up with a counter, and have just the man for the job. Can't say I blame the opposition, we did exactly the same thing when we had to. Now we have to find something extra. Keeps things interesting.

Quite right CP, just think it`s a bit poor of Jose to decry the tactic when it is one he uses so well when it suits

Newcastle hated that diagonal ball into their area form the right and culminated in Drogba's goal and a few other chances late on that really fell to the wrong personnel. My only misgiving is that the scouts and tactics should have picked this up from the onset.

Newcastle played the Sunderland plan with aplomb and offered a real threat going forward but I have to say I would have played Drogba from the start today as he seems to have the eye of the tiger at present.

I'll call it politics Diego, then it's always someone else' s fault. Jose is pretty good at sidestepping criticism, and usually does it with a twinkle in his eye. He does seem to be getting his sense of humour warmed up again after a fractious period.

In a weird way, I'm kinda glad we lost. Firstly it gets the monkey off the back, the constant declarations of "you'll be invincible" by the media and rival fans was only helping to build complacency in the team, as seen by someone of our dodgy performances lately. This will hopefully give them a kick up the arse. I'd much prefer 1 loss followed by 4/5 victories then a few victories and an equal amount of draws. Secondly, I'd rather we lose the unbeaten run now and have the time to steady ourselves again then lose it later on in the season and have it really affect our title challenge. The longer the unbeaten run went on, the greater the affect would be of that first loss.

On the game, Newcastle deserved it. We only started properly playing when we were 2-0 down. Cahill had a shocker again, possibly still affected that clash of heads on Wednesday (?); noticed he clashed heads again in the first half as well. If he is I'd give Zouma a go. Never puts a foot wrong when he plays and would do him good to play alongside JT more. Think it's time to start playing Luis, moving Dave to RB. He offers a lot more going forward then Dave and Branna and that's what we need. And I know he is always made to be the scapegoat, but thought Mikel had a good game, won every tackle and kept possession well, just a shame he missed that header.

Overall, not too deflated. Reckon we'll still win the league, especially if Aguero is out for a few months. Oh and I'd like to thank our friends in the north of London, because whenever we have a bad game, our Arsenal friends are always kind enough to have an even worse one and take all the heat of off us.
