Just wanted to ask those of you who are 'local' to Loftus Road whether Glen Hoddle actually does anything with the team each week? From someone afar ( here in Oz ) ..... I can't help thinking that he has done squat since we started him on the payroll. Whenever he writes an article for the Mail ( like today ) ......... it's always about another team, anyone but us. One would have thought he'd at least try to 'push' the new inroads he's making with our team / club ........... but no, seems to have little enthusiasm for us. If he does indeed have a genuine interest in us, l haven't seen it. McLaren came across as having made inroads for us but nobody( team players ) todate have said squat .......... or have they? Your thoughts?
Odd isn't it? I feel much the same about the Maclaren vs Hoddle effect. Maclaren made a discernible difference to the team especially the defence - so much so that I'd have been happy if he had been the next manager when Harry moved on - all the words in the camp sung his praises, about how he helped create a feel good atmosphere, brilliant training sessions etc. etc. Yet, as you say, we hear nothing about Hoddle, Harry never mentions him in his pre/post match pressers, and apart from a glimpse on the TV at Swansea he has been the invisible man. Like I say, odd...
Maclaren was much maligned after his stint as England manager. You have to say though he went to Holland and did well and has taken Derby to another level after Clough Jr
I wonder if Harry and Glenn don't see eye yo eye on the way we should play? Harry certainly never mentions him.
I heard about a month ago that he was working with player's skills and it was also mentioned he was really a big Vargas fan...
Ive always been a Hoddle fan and love the wy he set his teams up to play football. i guess we need to know what he is actually supposed to be doing (And ferdinand) for the team. I think he may have mor einut in the "bigger picture' and developing where we may be going as opposed to our here and now. he was prob bought in for our wing back system and we've decided to utilise his knowledge in other areas after dropping the system....? Is a bit strange, but Im glad he is for us as opposed to against us
Hoddle's only a part timer, isn't he? A sublime player and at one time a very promising manager. Bt judging from the gibberish he talks on TV I'd guess the players don't understand a word he says.
