But whelan's account evidences that the term was commonly used benignly, while the British Chinese Project says it's offensive because it was used in conjunction with racial violence, harassment and hate crimes. Presumably so were other words along with trousers, shoes, and possibly even a hat. Mackay seems to take pleasure in deliberately misidentifying races, which is another level of offensive.
We used to call my Granddad Spiderman . He didn't have any super powers or anything , he just used to struggle getting out of the bath.........
That's it....I have done Christmas. Every present bought and wrapped and every parcel and card posted. I is just chillin'.
Tim Henman does 92 keepy-ups with a tennis ball. Nadal did 20. Both were good, as a little ball is harder to control, but Henman was very impressive indeed.
Bloody hell is Christmas here already? Better get thinking about it then. With all the shopping it entails Christmas must have been invented by a woman.
Nothing to do with your post Fran, forgive me for hijacking it but couldn't see how other to log on....I'm an infrequent contributor now but do enjoy scanning through occasionally. I am concerned that CBK has gone AWOL, have I missed something, is he banned or something?
His last post was here. http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...ncluding-League-Cup-tie?p=7238377#post7238377 He has an argument with Le Tissier's Laces (and comes across like a child to me). Edits his comment and never comes back.
http://news.sky.com/story/1387059/navy-snipers-shoot-out-drug-boats-engines Royal Navy chase drug smugglers and shoot out their engines from a Lynx helicopter. How much fun is that? Forget adverts encouraging kids to join the Navy by promoting apprenticeships and helping rescue people....join the Navy and shoot at drug runners. Winner.
I actually tend to really enjoy his contributions, but unfortunately he has an all too readily occurring thing where he needed to tell people that they weren't proper fans (like him)/didn't know anything about football (unlike him) etc etc in an unpleasant way. That side of it is really quite tedious.
The gf has suggested that we cook Xmas dinner for our parents this year.... Yeah good luck with that.
